I would love to join in with a thrifty 2015. My priorities will be:

clear my overdraft with NW - the true cost of part-time working last year (currently £1115.21 was 2439.08 in October)
Make at least £5 a day - am qualified massage therapist in addition to being able to bake, stitch and garden so could work
    Count any roadkill
    Craft 15 + items in 2015
Have a frugal 18th bd celebration for DD - making her a scrappy quilt, buying 18 coming of age books (undecided on titles yet) in charity shops and on second hand sites, giving her money to put in isa?, nan making cake, I'll make card, digital ? scrapbook (will google ideas on how to do it cheaply as possible) and a family get together in ?
Downsize - invloves clearing overdraft and saving and research, research research. Was 50 this year and am MFW by 60 - don't know how likely this is!
Also involves selling all the clutter!

We freeze garlic in cloves, peel cloves, flash freeze then store in air tight container. Can just pull one of 2 out and defrost under running water.

I use the john freida color mousse, is around £5 a pack if you get in sale & as it is a mouse you just shampoo in & never get patches or tide lines.

  • My DD is currently working to become a qualified hairdresser / beautician and as well as working her wonders on me, she has people in the village who she dyes hair for, waxes eye brows or does nails at a fraction of the cost, if they went to a salon, giving them up-to-date fashions and experience for DD too. Maybe other people could ask about in their area see if any students might be doing the same?
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi all
As I was admiring one American blogger this afternoon I noted with amazement she and her husband save a whopping 65% of their take home. Admittedly they have no debt, are under 30 & have no kids but wow! They are doing a variation of Frugaldom by the sounds of it & are retiring to a small holding in the woods within the next 3 years. I duly got out my calculator & worked out we are managing to save a shade over 7% of our take home at the moment & once the debt is gone could get that over 10% quite easily. Which really encouraged me. 65% it ain't but it is more than I realised.
