I am soooo itching to go to hobbycraft, to buy a smaller glue gun for small fiddly craft projects, but I have 2 voices in my head lol
one saying.. go on, go and buy it, and the other one is saying.. NOOOOOOO try and manage with the bigger one..
think if I 'need' it later I will see if I can fund it with amazon codes via swagbucks...
Its really spooky, as now that I am going to dust down my slow cooker, it seems everyone on the FB frugal group I joined is talking about their slow cooker lol..
has anyone worked out how much it costs to run a slow cooker for approx. 8 hours? and how much its costs to run an electric oven for 3 hours? also a electric hob ring for a few hours??Work to live= not live to work0 -

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year and hoping you all succeed in painting your own rainbows for the future.
I shall apologise in advance for any lack of posting on my part but there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in each day. For anything I need to know or be asked, you all know where I am - Frugaldom! LOL
To those starting out on their journey, never despair. We all started somewhere and it's the keeping going that matters - there are NO FAILURES in this challenge - admitting to taking part is the biggest step you'll probably make, as it's all about how you spend and save from there on in - being conscious of how, where and why that money is being spent.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
HERE'S TO A GREAT 2015!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hello everyone, Happy New Year
I have worked out a yearly budget of £7000, that includes everything from bills to food and clothes, so here goes. All my DD come out on different days so I will update figures every four weeks on my pay day and report spends as and when.(hopefully there's not going to be too many)
Anyway have to finish cooking dinner that has all come out of the freezer or leftovers, and tomorrow I will enjoy beans on toast!! (I have to make some bread first though)

Getting organised for 2015
I am now doing a weekly menu I did one a while back and it was great and I used to shop accordingly I live alone and I am retired and shopping has now become a hobby I just love the Freebies & Coupons & Cashback now it’s time to stop the shopping for a while and use the stock I have accumulated, my fridge freezer and chest freezer are both full as is my stock cupboard regarding tins etc.
I have now got a spreadsheet for stocktaking in my freezers and cupboards also one for shopping etc. I have also set up Martins budget planner so this will be a very interesting year.
Up to this point I have saved thousands of pounds using this website and I have gone without nothing in fact because of money saved I am living like a king, and it’s going to get better my biggest regret is I didn’t manage my finances when I was younger but hopefully I will be able to pass on this knowledge to my children and grandchildren.
I passed my first test this afternoon, I called into Morrison’s to get a few necessary items and they had bags with 4 sausage rolls still warm 75p instead of £2 and I picked them up and then the thought came into my head what’s the point of doing a menu if I’m going to change it and how can I use up stock if I continue to buy more so I put them back.
Well I hope we all have a happy and prosperous NEW YEARLow Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
I'm doing very similar viv0147.
I have worked out a 16 day dinner plan using only what I have in the freezer or cupboard. Fortunately I managed to pick up alot of very cheap stuff for 20 quid on Christmas eve in Morrisons, things like mash, roasties, parsnips, brussels with chesnut, a gammon & some ys beef & pork cubes. Also due to them not having my cut to order 3 pork roast cut to the size ordered (1.5kg) I got a 2.5kg for the same price which got halved & frozen. So between all of that & a few tins of peas, carrots, super rice & a couple of fray bentos tins, I will need only salad, milk & eggs for the next 16 days.
I've just made the first days menu, battered frozen haddock fillets, col-cannon mash, peas & gravy. Perfect for this blowey night.
I have printed the meal plan & will mark off if we stuck to it & make a note when we don't to try to see a pattern.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
