So long as it is the actual person who makes the error that pays the compensation, and NOT the ever suffering taxpayer. But that will NEVER happen.
so you think people should have to pay compensation if they make a mistake in their job?
have you never made a mistake?
people are human you know ... they arent robots and sometimes get things wrong

I wasn't seriously saying that. I was making a tongue in cheek comment on what Woodbine had said.

And by the way everyone pays tax working or not

Really? How much tax did you pay when not working? And if you paid tax when not working, you must have a hell of a lot more assets (income) than I do. In which case, why would you need benefits?
  • compensation for hardship, financial loss undue stress which my ill wife had suffered, hours of telephone calls, apparently lost documents which i had sent in which i then had to replace.

and just to mention my complaint against the dwp was sent and recorded on the 19th of january 2014 and it is still not dealt with.

and as far as compensation chasers im sure anyone in my situation would be doing exactly the same thing
  • Do I take it your not happy with the amount of money the British Taxpayer has stumped up for you, and you want us to stump up some more?

please do not assume i have never worked a day in my life. like i stated at the start i gave up my job to look after my sick/ill wife.

a job i held for 15yrs, please dont judge because i had to claim state benefits im sure you or any body else would do exactly the same in my situation

income tax isnt the only form of taxation.
we all pay VAT, and so strictly speaking, everyone DOES pay tax

I personally wouldn't go after compensation but that's never been my bag...benefits is a life jacket that is thrown to people to help them survive... With income related benefits comes, HB, CTB, free prescriptions etc...and DLA/PIP thrown on top for many. Those with a working partner and a mortgage have more to lose if they become too ill to work..but all in all claimants should be grateful for the help they are fortunate to receive

Move on....be grateful because greed only takes from those in need.

ok lets say some knocked you over, crashed into your car, industrial accident/illness you would not claim................erm dont think so
  • also those working and have partner working if they had lost their job due to illness benefit would cover mortgage payments, working people claim dla/pip too

We also pay tax when we:

Make a phone call/use our internet.
    Buy petrol.
    Pay bus fare.
Switch on a light bulb/cook on gas.
    Do the washing.
    Watch TV.
    Have a beer.
    Have a cigarette.
    Have a takeaway.
We even pay tax when we go to the loo. (VAT on bog roll).
I even pay tax when I go out for my daily stroll. (VAT on my walking stick/shoes).

Everyone pays tax one way or the other. No one escapes.
