DWP maladministration compensation

hi all i'll explain briefly what has happened...........in 2010 i left my work place to look after my sick wife, at this time over the telephone interview with jsa i had explained my wife was in receipt of incapacity benefit (stamp only) and could we as a couple claim income support.............only to be told no and if my wife had received a income from IB then we could claim. so went on to JSA and after asking many times during the course of my claim i was always told no. i read about disability premiums so after many phone calls and 2 yrs later i found we could receive IS with the premium paid on top. a complaint was made all the arrears were back dated and paid in full.
but only now someone is dealing with my original complaint.
so my question is has anyone had compesation payments from DWP and is there any ideas how they work it out? i have provided lots of evidence supporting my case and was told that basically i will get back anything ive paid unnecessarily (if i can prove it)eg bank charges, travel expenses etc but i see this as a refund and not compensation
any advice will be greatly appreciated thank you

Did you claim carers allowance?Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0

So they have back paid you and appear to have sorted it out and you still want more money!
Is that the jist of it?0 -
Do I take it your not happy with the amount of money the British Taxpayer has stumped up for you, and you want us to stump up some more?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. I believe the compensation is a standard payment of £50. This is based on my personal experience of 3 years ago, it may have changed since then.0

No never received carers allowance asmy wife was not claiming dla at that time.
And by the way everyone pays tax working or not0 -
On compensation: back in March I applied and was granted a 'budgeting loan'. Despite many attempts to contact them and follow this up I have not yet received the money! I wrote to the secretary at the DWP, a man called Smith, and eventually I received a grovelling apology and the offer of fifty pounds as compensation. Perhaps this will arrive before Christmas...0

Peoples version of a tax payer depends on their own opinions. I don't think children are tax payers because their sweets attract VAT. My interpretation of a tax payer is income tax over benefits. Others will disagree and have their own opinion.
As to your original question I don't like compensation chasers, it doesn't sit right with me, yes financially to be recompensated for what you should have gained but compensation.. How much do you think you should get? Where do we draw the line?Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
if these people are forced to make compensation payments for their errors maybe just maybe they will make fewer errors0

What losses did you face as a result of not getting the premium? Did you lose serious weight from not being able to eat healthily? Did you catch pneumonia from the lack of heating? Surely to be compensated, you have to prove that you've suffered harm as a result?0

So long as it is the actual person who makes the error that pays the compensation, and NOT the ever suffering taxpayer. But that will NEVER happen."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
