not got too much planned. might go and buy a bench for my garden. seen some in the sales....every cloud has a silver lining, with all this horrid weather they must be struggling to sell.
just had email from the villa owner about not returning our security deposit...long story. but to be honest I hope it chokes him....and if anyone is looking to rent a villa in florida I can let you know one to avoid.
we have holidayed in villas in many countries for many years and its the first bad experience we have had, and certainly the first time we have been accused of damage (I hasten to add falsely). makes me so angry!x x x0 -
Good morning,
Happy Birthday to Thriftlady's DS
Happy Anniversary to DLB
Smoky you must be so worried about your OH. Hope its resolved soon. ((hugs))
JackieO I wish I had half your fighting spirit. You really are an inspiration. Have a great time in London today.
Luxor4t well done on that weight loss. :T That's fantastic.
Aussie I stick to the same hair dye colour all the time so I won't be going for that skunk look you made so popular a wee while ago.
I seem to manage to keep the hair dye off my clothes, face and ears but my bathroom is beginning to resemble a Jackson Pollock painting from all the splashes.
The last thing I *should* be doing right now is posting on here. I have sooooo much to do today. I just realised that I haven't bought the doors yet that the joiner is going to be fitting on Wednesday. Homebase want to charge me £25 to deliver four doors less than 1 mile from their store. Yeah right. I will have to try and sweet-talk XDH and see if he will pick them up for me in his huge new car. I also need to get new handles too. Can't decide which ones to buy and time is running out.
I also need to iron the tons of clothes that suddenly appeared in the washing basket yesterday (despite me asking DS to bring all the dirty clothes out of his room on Wednesday morning, Wednesday afteroon, Thursday morning, etc.) He left it until 4.30 on Friday afternoon to tell me that almost everything he owns needs washing and ironing for Sunday morning. Thankfully it stayed dry here yesterday and I was able to get it all washed and most of it dried on the line. So an afternoon of ironing and packing awaits me. Oh joy.
After that most of the jobs are general tidying and cleaning and I can pace myself with these so that I still have some "me" time.
Oh, I got a spam PM but it was from someone looking for a job??
I deleted it but didn't report it. Ooops.
Have a sunny Saturday, whatever you are doing. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning All
(((smokey & hubby))))
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs DLB
JackieO - glad it went ok, I can still remember the pain when I filled my bladder for the babies scans - that wee was bliss.
Cant believe its 10.30 and ive done virtually nothing - oh well it is the holidays. Have put wm on and am just about to empty dw and clean kitchen worktops, will have a quick hoover, swish bathrooms and then thats it because for the rest of the day I am going to make the most of the sun. Yes its shining here, only a few clouds and a slight breeze - its actually hot!
DD is being dropped round a friends and is off to the local independant cinema - £2 a ticket, may just sit in the garden and read or may head off to the beach.OH wants to pop down to our local tonight for a couple as its his birthday on wed and he wont be able to celebrate then as will be off to work.
Pork chops for tea I think with jacket spuds. Off now - have a great day.0 -
Dog Rose, I know its great to be wise after the event, but if we rent a gite we take photos when we leave, on my camera you can time and date them...proves you have left the place in a good condition........
Morning all........(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.......Jackie....I have been in one of those machines too....and I suffer from slight claustrophbia, by the time they got me out I was more than glad!!!!!!!!!!
A lovely, bright, sunny morning, just the morning to hang out the washing, except I have not line to hang it on anymore..........have just been down and put a second load in, I am going to iron this afternoon, so decided to wash everything in the basket, 4 loads...........oh well...............I have a blouse and dress hanging in the bedroom doorway on hangers, they both crease like crazy if they go in the dryers.
I forgot to say I had a slight accident with a favourite lamp this week. I was cleaning and knocked it over the whole thing came apart, got most of it back, but could not get the ring that held the 2 parts of the lampholder together to screw down properly. Decided that I would have to take it and get a new lamp holder fitted............too good to throw away, its base is white marble from Italy.....bought when we were both working......The next morning the electricians turned up to replace our bathroom light, I asked them if they knew where I could take it to get it fixed, and the clever chappie did it for me and wouldn't even have a cuppa.........there are some good youngsters about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like OH will be playing bowls this afternoon, he is taking 3 others with him, leaves at 1,20 and will not be back until well after 6pm having had his supper........so omelette for me!!!!!!!!!!! Bacon sarnies at lunchtime.........
Moiliere..........I sleep better when OH is not there too.........he fidgits.....and rolls around the bed, it would not be the first time I have had to get out and get in his side, only to have to reverse the operation a few minutes later when he rolls back. If it happens more than once I get up and sleep on the sofa.............LOL.............
Allotment tomorrow......I have a feeling I will have a small marrow rather than a courgette...........
Right off to see if my second load of washing is finished and get it in the dryer, load the washer again. We have 2 washers and 2 dryers in the laundry room. I find that weekends and afternoon are not as busy as some other times. A cuppa also awaits my attention.................September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.
Tesco £57.13
Petrol £10.000 -
Morning all!
Hope you're all well, hugs if you're not!
It's rather sunny here in Sussex at the moment.... how long it'll stay like this is another matter entirely!
Will have my breakfast in a moment, going to have egg on toast with a smoothie I think! Need to put the bm on too, otherwise I'll be winged at tomorrow that OH wouldn't've had any bread for toast whilst I've been out at work! He's on strike (in bed) today-hopefully I can get him round to doing at least something today-I'll set him the task of hanging washing on airers and see how much that progresses! Not very far I bet!
Am working this afternoon, in Croydon. Yurch. Sometimes it takes 1 hour to get there, others it takes 3, so I'm leaving at one to pick up a paper and maybe a bar of chocolate, so if I turn up mega early I can sit and read the paper, or my Harry Potter book. Might pop into Wing Yip on my way back, depending on the time.... I love that place so I prob will visit it, hehe.
Right, off to make breakfast and do the dw.... have a good Saturday!! x

its not damage to the villa as such. there was a pool alarm, which I have just costed (£20) which the button broke on, more than likely through just normal wear and tear. we certainly didnt hit it with a baseball bat or anything....
I think the kindest thing to say is the villa owner obviously has "issues". there were a number of other issues which I should have complained about and even reported my suspicions to the authorities , to be honest hindsight is a wonderful thing. just put it down to experience and move on. gave us all a laugh at work with his carry on. never stayed in a villa where the ornaments are glued to the shelves! and every window has a sign to tell you how to open blinds! every item of equipment had a framed list of instructions...and I mean every item!! there were even signs in the loo.:)x x x0 -
Well I'm home again feeling very holier than thou might I add.
DH was in charge of tea. So I had the night off cooking. I've been unpacking boxes today in the shed. The going was very slow as I came across the dreaded photo album box.
Tomorrow we are off to the markets which is another name for a car boot sale. Then off to visit friends and then shop for a few groceries before heading back.
I haven't had any spam emails. Typical. Nothing exciting happens to me.
Annie
Luxor Well done in getting into your bathers. :T Wish I could lose the lbs I put on. It's all gone to my tummy. I look more pregnant now than when I was pregnant. :rotfl:
Well off to have a wee surf and then to read. ByeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
