    Morning all,

    Well, one week down 5 to go:beer: aren't I a rotten mother? :p

Gosh the weather looks good here today, but I don't think it's going to last.

My ds1 is 12 today -how did that happen  We've given him a new bike and it looks as big as mine.

His birthday meal request is for fish and chips, so I get an evening off :D . Fish and chips is regarded as a treat in our house ;) . He wants raspberry pavlova for dessert, so I've made the meringue (I'd forgotten how easy peasy it is) and now I've just got to whip the cream and assemble it. I'm planning something a little different for dd as she can't eat the meringue. I'll bake a triangle of bought puff pastry, slice it horizontally and fill with cream and rasps. I'm then left with a lot of pastry of course, so tomorrow we're having slamon en croute -we're dead posh we are :D:p

I might make some birthday muffins later - not sure what sort yet.

Sorry to hear of your horrible scan Jackie, ds1 had to have an MRI scan recently (he's got a little lumpy vein on his chin-not at all serious but he wants it gone) and he had an awful time of it -very scary and uncomfortable.
    I love your spirit.

    Have a good Saturday all.

    Morning all!

Sunny here, so have the towels in WM. Might even get them on the line before it rains. Yesterday was a real 'mare so should have a better day today but have to dash around getting the last things sorted out before Luxor - this includes money!

My size 14 bathing costume FITS!!! was not sure it would as I put on a bit
of weight while I was pre/post op. thank goodness for Slimming World. Two years ago I was size 24.

Hester enjoy your sewing, I am so jealous of your sewing room! It must be wonderful to be able to leave things out, already for the next stint.

Jackie you know you are an inspiration, enjoy your trip. When we saw the Mousetrap one of the actors was the image of BiL. Told the kids it was his secret job and they believed it for years!

Thanks to the Grocery Challenge I spent £8.73 less this month than last, which was £70 less than May, so £148.73 to throw at clearing the car loan.
OM has really got the hang of this and put his payrise into his ISA - on a standing order!!!

(((((((((((((((((((Hugs to all & have a great OS day)))))))))))))))))))

    Morning everyone,

Jackie O, you are an absolute star! How you can take time out to make us laugh with all you're going through, is amazing!
Smoky, I hope the head doesn't hurt too much this morning.
    dlb, happy anniversary.
Happy birthday to Master Thriftlady :bdaycake:

I'm up early as dd had to leave early for her Saturday job. I don't mind really because it's a gorgeous morning. The sun is shining! If it stays that way I have a few jobs to do in the garden this morning, if not I want to have a go at making Twinks hobnobs.

We have nine weeks summer hols here and we're now in week four. The boys are getting a bit twitchy because of the wet weather as they aren't able to get out and about as much as they would like. They both fancy going to the local aquarium, so we may do that this afternoon.

Off to have a surf before the rest waken up....I do love this quiet half hour or so to myself in the morning.

    Take care all,

    Pink

    Morning all

Havent posted for a few days, always seem to busy recently, but must get back on track, Posting in here every morn seems to set my day on track, especially if I have housework to do, as I list the things I need to do in here and it makes me want to make sure I complete it all, a little OS target as such :D

Today Im taking DS2 to a bday party, whilst OH takes DS1 swimming, then we are gonna pop to mums for lunch. Not much planned for this afternoon, so probably some housework.

Have the washing machine on already so will hang out the washing before go out, hopefully it will stay dry while we are out.

Pizza, hm wedges and salad for tea. but there is a new chinese takeaway open up in the village and its tempting me to go and buy a takeaway, I must resist the urge! :rotfl:

Was planning on doing a carboot tomorrow, but again the weather is raining so another weekend gone  never gonna get to do a carboot this summer at this rate

Rite best be off, time for a shower and get the kids ready.

have a gd day every1, bye for now

    Morning everyone.

Left OH in bed this morning so trying to be quiet so not to wake him. Going to put some washing in and try to get it out on the line before the rain creeps in. Need to sort out the menu board for the shop tomorrow and drop OH at friends/pub later so he watch the footie. At least I'll get a few hours peace to potter around the house.

Luxor - well done in getting into your size 14 bathing costume! From a size 24 is a great achievement - you must feel great......
(I'm in SW too - lost 12 lbs so far but still quite a way to go).
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

I'm back! Thanks for whoever fixed the title!

Jackie - I love your spirit! But don't tell me about the play - I'm seeing it at the end of the month! DH + I got a deal on a hotel room - £1 and then picked a dinner + play package for £125 - The mousetrap And dinner at the Savoy. Its a slightly early anniversary pressie for our second yearly anniversary. (We got married twice!)

Twink, that's the spam I was asking about - it seemed to have been sent to tons of people when I got it; after I deleted it I realized I should have reported it so the person could be banned.

    Morning everyone

I had one of those awful nights when I just couldn't sleep - OH volunteered at 2.30 to go and sleep elsewhere as I was disturbing him and I was a bit better when I had the whole bed to myself!!

I just want to slob around today but our National Trust cards run out on Monday so OH is insisting we go to Rufford Hall near Preston - I can snooze in the car at least. We used our cards a lot the first year then were fed up with all the local places the second year and we're not renewing.

Just bought a shopping trolley off ebay - I tried to find one that didn't look too old ladyish but I couldn't afford the cow pattern one.... When I finish work for good this week (starting an MA in October) I will be doing all my shopping on foot. I was inspired by a thread on the OS board...

Hope you all have a good day - thanks for making me welcome on this thread.

    Julia x

    Jackie - big hugs.

Its a lovely sunny morning here in northamptonshire which is a welcome change.
jackieo your sense of humour is ace..you are so strong to be able to have a giggle with us all about your hospital encounters agreat big hug to you:grouphug: :grouphug:
i didnt do anything that i had planned to do yesterday. My mum is really down at the moment so i went over and helped her to clean her house. She seemed a lot more cheerful for it which is great.
I ordered pizza last night....first time for about 4 weeks so i havn't done too bad considering i used to order one every friday night:eek: . Since joining this board and trying to become OS i dont have the "i work all week im not cooking on a friday attitude" anymore which is good. Id had a stressful day yesterday so im not feeling too bad for getting takeaway.
The house is pretty clean and tidy so a quick wizz round today and then im gonna be trying to get the noahs arc cross stitch done which i am doing as my mums 60th birthaday prezzie in august. I have to do it in the day as it is on navy fabric and is impossible to see at night time.
Ive got a basket full of wet washing to go on the line. DW is on and i need to get to the post office to pay the rent.
Ah well DALLAS is just about to start..why do i love it soooo much?...after all i did see it all first time round:confused:
Hope you all have a good day and hope the sun shines for you all today....all day
smoky do hope the hubby gets sorted it must be a real worry for you both
n9eav hope the little mite makes it. The same thing happened to me last year but unfortunately my one didnt pull through. Its mainly the shock that gets them not always the injuries so fingers crossed for the little darling.
