Six days till payday for me (not that I'm counting or anything :p ), need to do a shop tonight to last me till Wednesday, just done a quick mock online shop and I reckon it should come to about £6-7... so woohoo, under budget! :D

Can't decide whether to drop the budget for next month, or the other thing I thought of doing is keeping it the same but including toiletries and cleaning stuff, which are separate at the moment... decisions decisions...

Edited to add - just remembered that Clubcard vouchers should be here any day now! :j

  • Have been pointed to this board by Jacks xxx, thanks. I was budgeted by some wonderful person on the dfw board as having £50 p/w to spend as a couple on anything and everything. This month have managed to stick to it kind of so far. Have only been supermarket shopping once a fortnight instead of once a week. And it was mostly freezable/tinned to last when all the moneys gone. Hopefully until the end of the month!
this is my first month of trying to do a full spending diary of absolutely everything we buy, will be interesting/terrifying to add it up at the end of the month. It probably didn't help we spent £40 at the garden centre last week, (oh the shame!), still we now have a backyard full of pots of herbs and the cramped plants have been repotted. Except we paid for plant pots and yesterday i picked up two binbags full of plantpots from someone on freecycle, doh! Anyone any idea if plantpots would sell on ebay?
When we have no money for food we'll just have to eat the herbs! Fight off the snails for them obviously!
If there's a September challenge, count me in and I shall see if we can squeeze the grocery spending any more!
  • Still managing ok without touching the 96p.

My lovely mum was over yesterday and bought me some bread, coffee and eggs, which will help with the last week for lunches etc.

1 week til payday, and now have enough milk, bread and freezer/storecupboard stuff to last I think.

Roll on friday when i can blow the 96p on a huuuuge bar of choc!

Well done - this is really impressive! I know you will enjoy the chocolate even more because you have worked so hard for it!

Have just got back from Sainsbury's having done a big shop as I have visitors all over the weekend till Tuesday. There will be 4/5 adults to feed instead of the usual two, so I am not too worried at having gone over my weekly budget. The bill included two bottles of wine and some 'extras' such as biscuits and crisps which I don't usually buy. I hope this lot will last me till next Friday which leaves me £94.19 for the last week!

I have also managed to up my PMS total as I was lucky enough to get the free Clarins mascara so I put the £8 saved into the PMS pot. I also notice that on my Sainsbury's bill they always put a note saying how much you have saved with multibuys so it is easy to work out what I should put into the PMS pot.

I don't expect I'll have time to log in over the weekend so good luck everyone - it's downhill now to payday!

Just noticed that if you use the price comparison site www.mysupermarket.co.uk to find out prices or where your shopping will be cheapest, you can get ipoints (http://www.ipoints.co.uk) for each search you do on there.. which is handy!

ps nipped to local Sainsburys to see if there were any good reductions at lunchtime - add £1.38 to my total for cheese and yoghurts.
