Yes, but putting it off doesn't mean it goes away - it's just the timing that changes. And undoubtedly, you'd wait until it started hurting before getting it done.

Work once again survived. Got to pack an overnight bag ready for tomorrow as I'm on a split shift and then overnighting at work.

    :grouphug:

Rather you than me. I hate even the concept of split shifts. Why do you need to overnight?

    I'm poor and money grubbing......

Or more specifically I was asked a while ago to Host a Church group who're staying for a conference, I have to be onsite for the duration of their stay as the main part of the host duties are to be around just in case of an emergency (so Hosts are usually first aid trained, fire marshal trained, known not to flap the second something goes wrong). So I figured that as I'm being paid to be there any way I could cover the breakfast and dinner shifts - both shifts only need one person given the numbers we have on site and won't interfer with my hosting. The hosting is paid hourly between 8am and 8pm then a flat rate from 8pm to 9am.

I've been asked to host overnight for another group in April, but am hoping that the more I do the more they ask me to do to help rebuild my savings since the move wiped most of them out.

Working hard for a living is not exactly money grubbing... :p

Sounds like a plan - which is good, it means you're thinking towards the future. First the new flat, and now this.

    How's the swimming training going?

True enough and given my teams sickness record I was going to be at work anyway - it's just saved me the drive home, the pennies I'll save not having the heating on and anything else I do at home that runs up the bills. ;)

This week it's not, hopefully next week once the cold has started to clear up properly I'll get back to the pool - and I'm really hoping my arm will finally be ok again.

Is it still giving you trouble? You need to find someone to massage it, and do that pull/bend/stretch routine.

It'll either be cured, or you'll never have to worry about it again, as it'll drop off... :rotfl:

If I ever had chance to sit down at work...... tomorrow will be so unusual, I'll get to sit in the office with my laptop and work through some surveys, polish up a couple of part written reviews to get some pennies coming back in from that kind of thing again.

It was a bit sore last time I swam but that was a week ago so am hoping it'll be ok again next time.

Oddly one of my friends suggested I just get it amputated and have a paddle wheel installed on my shoulder instead - it'd be a problem at work and I suspect a pain to get a wetsuit over.

Good job you don't or you'd spend a fortune... ;)

Are you doing any bending/stretching with it in the meanwhile?

Very oddly. Paddlewheels are so 19th Century. You'd want a proper propeller instead...

Not if you had it detachable, like on a bayonet fitting or something. There's probably some Japanese Manga about that very subject...*

I'm using it a normal - I'm short and I spend lots of time reaching for things on high shelves at work so that covers stretching and even some lifting.

I suspect said odd friend thought a propeller would be a dangerous thing for me to have around what with the sharp edges - paddle wheels being more of a blunt object.

Managed so far this morning to have the laptop up and running and open the various browser windows I need to get stuff done yet am mostly sat looking at MSE and reading my kindle. Not an entirely unpleasing way to be spending work time but not the most useful way to spend it.

I was thinking more of structured exercises and stretching, rather than work. If you try it now (slowly!), do both your arms go to similar limits of travel for similar amounts of effort?

I had a problem last year with my shoulders/neck, and it took ages and was very painful. Though ended up with enough flexibility in my neck to do Linda Blair impressions... :rotfl:

And you can stand behind people and have the paddles bang off the back of their head when they're being stupid... ;)

Yup, I can stretch/move/bend equally on both arms.

    Which sounds like fun :D

Easier would be earning pennies, reducing debt, rebuilding savings etc, entertaining is reading the kindle and not getting much else done. Although I did get through a few surveys.
