Happily I've nothing planned this weekend that I'd need the phone for so other than the feeling that I've lost an electronic limb it shouldnt have too much of an effect

Slowly getting myself organised again with the self employed stuff which is going to help the finances if I do need to replace the phone.

It will help indeed. Or just in general for the fun things.

You keep talking about 'fun' things...tis a most confusing concept. :p

Fun things happen with fun people. You either need to find one, or be one.

If you could, what fun things would you want to happen?

Erm pass... it's been a while (other than in less than 7 days having had one of my friends to the house for lots of wine, going to dinner and the cinema with some of my colleagues from the other block, and going to dinner at a friends house last night), I think thats my limit for remaining civilised in the company of others for at least the next couple of weeks!

Well fun things can be civilised. Or not. Up to you.

But you do have fun - you just need to have more. Give you a bit of spark.

Which you can work off running up and down the local "hills"... ;)

Fun is something I know I need to work on, but am settled in the house, hopefully going to pass my probation and get a payrise in the next few weeks, then I can construct a sensible budget and work out what shape fun is going to take around my shifts.

Well that's one good thing about this job, the shifts do seem to be reasonably sensible, not the 3rd full moon after a conjunction of Saturn like some you've had.

Though a budget will stretch further if you refrain from further swimming lessons for your phone... ;)

I'm really not looking forward to putting my sim back in to a phone and finding out what sort of abuse my lovely friends have sent me :)

In the mean time I've hit 1000 points on opinionworld and turned them in to £10 paypal cash.

Just looked at my qmee account and realised I'd got more than £1 so have transferred that to my paypal account too.

Completed a foresty people survey so will be able to claim £4 Monday or Tuesday.

And am currently owrking though the stupid number of emails I've been sent in the last few days with surveys attached.

In light of your experience, I've dug out my (very) old phone and charged it up, just in case anything happens to mine at any point. Fortunately, the battery is NiMH (which shows how old it is) and so can take being flat as a fart for a couple of years. A lithium would have just laughed if I'd tried to recharge it after this time.

I'm not expecting anything to happen, but if I didn't do anything, then something would happen. Life is like that...

    Foresty people?

Well it's all to the good - you have a phone to pay for.

    Were you working today?

Foresty people = Pinecone, on a couple of the up your income threads they're not keen on using the companies actual name as they're one of the panels who are really hot on secrecy.

Still not attempted to turn on the phone, think I'm going to take that risk tomorrow as I can go handset shopping afterwards if necessary.

Yup was in work today, was not happy at 8am when I realised it'd snowed over night!

Of course if I do have to change my phone it's not just the handset to change, I'm planning to get an iPhone5 (not sure which model yet will probably just see whats available), but that'll mean picking up a couple of lightning adaptors and a spare charger for in the car which is more expense I'd prefer not to have.
