I have 2 questions that I hope someone can help with..
1.. On this nexus 7 within the forum I can't get the search facility to work. I bring up the forum search facility on this page, the search box comes up but as soon as I try to key in the search details, the screen disappears. I would suggest it's unique to perhaps tablets??
2.. Does anyone know when Android 5 is being released to nexus 7 (2012), it might even solve the problem above! Last release I had came direct from Google. Have tried the nexus update method within settings. It says I'm up to date!!
Hope you can help

1. I hadn't realised, but you're right, that is what happens with the search box. The easy way round it is to click on Advanced Search, which works fine.
2. I have read that OTA release of Lollipop for Nexus tablets has been pulled due to issues that early adopters experienced. I have had the OTA for my Nexus 4, which has been mainly fine, but so far there is no sign of it for the 7.0 -
2. You can get the Lollipop release for Nexus 7, if you don't want to wait for the OTA:

I think the Android 5.01 update is available. I got it earlier this week although my tablet is a Nexus 7 (2013)0 -
By all accounts 5 has been pulled for a rework .0

If you read the link in my earlier post you'll find which devices have the 5.0.1 update. (Nexus 7 2012 does not as yet; Nexus 7 2013 does, but only for the Wifi model - the Mobile model is still only on Kitkat).
I have applied the 5.0.1 update to my N4, although I didn't actually have any issues with 5.0.0 -
The problem I get with N7 on these forums, is the screen text (in the quick links section) changes size when you first touch the screen, which in turn moves links up / down a fraction so that you actually open the wrong link.
It took me ages to work out why the wrong links were opening.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Both 5.0 and 5.0.1 were pulled from the 2012 and 2013 machines respectively a couple of days ago. The 2012 N7s in particular had numerous reports of very slow running after the upgrade.
The 5.0 upgrade was listed as available on my 2012 for about 3 weeks and the 5.0.1 on my 2013 for 9 days. Being cautious, I didn't install either. Both are now gone.0 -

Re 1 above, I've had the same problem on my Samsung tablet running Android 4.4.2 from the time I got it earlier this year. As mentioned in one reply, you get around it by using Advanced Search.0 -
Many thanks for all these positive and helpful responses. This forum never fails to help!
I've been doing general Google searches re the update, it's amazing how unhelpful and badly informed these allegedly professional organizations are. They forecast the delivery many months ago and were proved wrong and equally haven't provided half the info I've received here. Many thanks!0 -
The lollipop factory images are available on https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images I installed them on my Nexus 5 and my Nexus 7 2013 and they work well without any problems.0
