Hi
I'm a bit late to this party but I'd like to join if I may. We only bought our first place last December but I'd like to start taking some chunks out of the mortgage. We have set up an SO for £100 OP every month but will probably increase. It's a busy year with our wedding and my sister's so didn't want to commit to too much and not be able to maintain it. My aim is to be mortgage free by 33 (a nice rhyme, and 8 years away)Mortgage £126746 DEC14 £122423.53 DEC15 £115041.70 DEC16 Remortgaged Sep17 to pay off HtB loan £150000 - £140500 JUL19 Moved house Oct19 £230000 £230400 DEC200 -
I've just made the latest overpayment. £760 for May.
I'm not sure how I'm going to go about overpayments from now on, as next month I'll be having a month off, and after that we'll be on an Offset mortgage, and putting in a lot of savings into that which will smash the target immediately.
As its going into an offset, I guess it's no longer an overpayment, so I'm not sure if it can be counted on here?MFW 2015 - #88 £3,345 / £3,500

Hi
Just paid another £200 in so a total of £1000 for May.
Job security is always a major problem for me so not sure when I will be able to make another overpayment. It seems that when my income is at risk, I spend more money on things I wouldn't ordinarily buy. Almost as if I need to get them in now, because I won't be able to later on, when I can't afford it.
So, I still have another 7 months to try to meet or exceed my target. Keeping my fingers crossed.
TxStill striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

another £45 OP to add to the pot, making our May OP total £560
Think that's possibly it from us for May as we're off on our holidays on Saturday. If there's anything left in the bank when we get back :rotfl:I'll do a final sweep of the account.
Thanks Lomcevak
