I've been tied up for the last few days, not found time to get on the forums, but I've been good
Spent just over £13 at Mr T's Thursday evening, including some YS Naan Breads to go with our HM Garlic Butter Chicken tonight, 2 bags YS crisps and a YS bar of chocolate. Can't recall the precise total, but I updated my sig while I was still in the store.
NSD yesterday, but having to grab some bits today. I forgot milk and coffee Thursday. OH is in town this afternoon, so a visit to Al Dee's will be on the cards, no doubt.:T Weight Loss (Start Weight 14st 12lb): 5/24 lbs :T

Only half way through the week & have dipped into my weekly budget quite a bit...Today I picked up nappies, mouthwash, milk, bread & a few other bits & am now £16.07 lighter, not good when I only have a budget of £45 this week & am yet to do my main shop on saturday (Need to get washing powder too)
Worried that I am going to fail my first ever challenge...
Oh bless don't worry about failing, theres no such thing on here, we learn, not sure how many you are trying to feed, see by the nappies at least yourself and a little one, you are also including
toiletries and cleaning in your budget. so that's quite a low budget, don't be hard on yourself .
Just a little old style tip if I may, I have not bought mouthwash in years as a dentist advised me that just a quick swill with salt water was more effective, just a sprinkle of salt in water .Slimming World at target0 -
Small spend today at HBs.
I'm trying to balance healthy eating with using up what I have in... So I bought some noodles and some stir fry sauces to use up leftover meats/veg etc. I also bought some baking bits to use up the stacks of flour etc.
Ive baked a couple of potatoes for taking to work and a cake
Will update sig shortlySometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

If I can't be bothered to walk the 6 miles to the market and back I find that Iceland aren't too bad for their big packs of bacon or fruit. And, of course, frozen veg.
I prefer l!dl's fruit, but the quality in L!dl can be hit and miss (they leave old fruit out until it rots or gets sold).
The mature cheese from Iceland can also be okay for cooking.
I can't stand bacon (use a small amount once in a while to make carbonara for DS1 and have loads from Costc0 bagged and frozen)
Hardly every buy fruit - I have loads of tinned I need to get through, but that's slow going as I'm high risk type 2 diabetes and all fruit has a lot of (albeit natural) sugar. When I do pick some up it's a single piece at a time, so almost always from Mr M (only local place that sells that way)
Only frozen veg I use is peas and sweetcorn, and a bag of each lasts me a couple of months (at least) as I normally use fresh veg
Cheese is very small quantities no more than once or twice a month as I'm mildly lactose intolerant (worst when I'm exercising regularly). I do much better with hard goats cheese (hard to find around me, and horribly expensive) or mozarella (bland). This also means I'm on (the much more expensive) soya milk which doesn't help the grocery budgetAt least DS1 is fine on normal stuff, as he gets through at least 12 pints a week

Obviously comes down to what you buy

I'd love to be able to get to a costc0No car so can't really. I need to find someone in Cardiff who goes and pay them to let me tag along.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Hello, well my shop today was £16.83 and although that means my spend this month doesn't look anything near the budget, we are eating a lot out of the freezer but that is not bottomless so from next month I will be buying as we need it, must admit the act of shopping is so much easier when the meals are planned.:)The person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0

Hello all, hope everyone is having nice day. Weather here is cold, windy and rainy so apart from grocery shop have stayed in and tried to catch up on forum reading.
Spent £43.06 at Mr M's but had a £5 voucher to use so knocked some money off.
HM butternut & carrot soup for lunch and looking forward to Pitta Pizza for tea.
Making a tomato sauce in SC to freeze for meals later on in the week. Will also try making lentil dahl in SC and see how it comes out.
Found some pot barley at the back of cupboard and so will start adding to HM soup to make it a bit more substantial.
Still meal planning and listing meals I can make out of all the bits from store cupboard and freezer and hopefully will help keep me in budget this month.
Good Luck everyone and hope you have a good weekend.:)G/C Jan £138.64/250

Evening people. :j
I had my meal plan all set for the evening when...shock horror, no eggs in the house! Instead of trundling out in the cold/wet/windy weather to buy eggs (and probably chocolate and god knows what else), I've merely changed tomorrows tea for tonight as I'm out tomorrow and can pick up eggs without making a special journey and feeling the need to compensate for it.
Granted, instead of 2 NSDs, there will only be one this weekend. However, still minimising the spend where I can.How long til pay day?
