I have spends to report but I'm upstairs in bed and the total is written on my shopping list pad downstairs so I will update my signature tomorrow. It's in the region of £34 though. Would have been higher but I ordered online and Asda made some interesting substitutions which went back. I've had a poorly child since Sunday so haven't left the house other than to haul said child to doctors (antibiotics for sinusitis) and a quick tip run this morning with him in the car with me.

The boy ate a bigger dinner than me tonight so I think he's fixed and can go back to school tomorrow. He's been drinking water instead of milk though while he's been ill which has saved a fair bit (mean mother alert :D ).

There still seems to be plenty in the freezer. We may need a small loaf towards the end of the week and maybe some more fruit. A lot of the time I prefer lots of veg with my meals rather than having fruit as in-betweens so we'll see.
  • Small spend today of £6.42 at Mr T's. DD back from Dublin today, and straight away did a meal plan for rest of week, as was craving healthy food.

Told her to use food already in, so this was just a small top up shop. Not bad :)
Loving life to the full, just need purse full too :)

  • I caught OH about to throw a few peppers in the bin because they were a bit wrinkly! So I cut them up and roasted them in the oven whilst the pizzas were cooking. I've added them to a screw top jar, filled the jars with oil and put them in the fridge. They'll be great added to tomato based sauces or for toppings the next time I do pizzas.

  • Never made it to Home B's for pet food, did however pop into Mr T's for a loaf of bread (going through loads ATM) and went at just the right time! 3 loafs at 9p each, total spends of 27p!! I'm back on my SW diet from tomorrow and the got the small brown loafs so I'm over the moon!

Total added. Main meal planned for tomorrow. Chicken caserole. Sorted!

Had a nsd today. I have been working on my dissertation all day. I only left the house to drop off and collect children so avoided the shops. Tomorrow is big shop day and I am hoping to get the majority of food needed for the rest of the month. This might mean a a large spend tomorrow but less the following two weeks, I am experimenting.

Yesterday a friend called in with some free food. Trays of veg were being sold off at a wholesalers for £1 a tray, DD and DS home so we were delighted and spent the next 2 hours blanching sprouts, making 8 pints of brocolli and stilton soup and 8 pints of mushroom soup. I hope they freeze well. I will put portion size bags in freezer for lunches. Really pleased. 32 at least free lunches and 16 lunches with sprouts.
We give the friend stuff when we have a glut of jam etc, but really appreciated this.
