Not sure about my target now. I think we spend more than I thought! Think we do too many little shops that all add up. I used to meal plan , have a freezer full of home made but quick meals and shop just once a week (with the odd milk or bread shop extra mid week). Now we don't plan, shop smaller but more frequently & my freezer is poorly stocked (but we are moving soon so that cant be helped).
Husband went to morrisons local yesterday and spent £14 & I went to Sainsburys today and spent £26! I work Monday to Wednesday and have only meal planned that far ahead so I can see me buying more Thursday or Friday! We did get some bargains though like smoked salmon for £1.50 which I used in a risotto tonight & a reduced price pizza that we will have after work tomorrow.Mortgage as of Feb 2015 - £153000 (30 years left on term). Aiming to be morgage free in 20 years or less.0 -
Hooray NSD no.2! Back to work tomorrow after two weeks off. It will be a real test for me now to stay organised with shopping, meal planning etc. as time is very tight. However, no excuses I know it is the same for most of us! All three lunches made and in the fridge and dinner part prepared for tomorrow night. Determined not to 'pop' to the shops in my lunch hour.January 2018 Grocery Challenge - £0/£300.
Saving for Xmas 2017 - £0/£2000.
Emergency Fund - £0/£1000.

Made a big pot of chicken and rice soup today so that's lunch sorted for tomorrow just not sure how to store it or if it can be frozen. Have also made sausage casserole today so there is loads of that for dinner and I think will freeze some of that.
Today's spend was £1.99 on a pack of mince was intended to make lasagne but won't be doing this until tomorrow night now.

taken from freezer in a raw state, and making the soup was the first cook for it. in that case you'll be fine freezing - but don't defrost and then refreeze any soup, so make sure you portion up before freezing.Cheryl0

... I also never see YS stuff at the few pennies level here I wonder of its regional. For example I often manage to buy bread at 18p or meat at around a pound but never 5p for things.
Also helps if you buy seasonal fruit and veggies.
Do you not have an A*di near you - ours sells butter for 98pI do remember that a list was put up of the various times the big stores usually reduce things but I don't know where to find it.HTH
CAN ANYONE HELP WITH TIMINGS THE SUPERMARKETS REDUCE STUFF PLEASE.
