January Grocery Challenge 2015

Spent £41.20 on the weekly shop, a mix of staples, meat for the freezer and vegetables.
I'm determined not to do any "little top up shops" in the week - that's a big weakness of mine, and I can easily spend £20 when I just needed one item. My partner wanted me to pick up some fromage frais for a recipe (which I know we would only use a little bit of) on the way home from work yesterday, but I knew we had half a tub of creme fraiche sitting in the fridge that would work just as well. Mini triumph!

No spends yet today but oh boy have I been tempted to go to the supermarket! Meatball pasta bake for dinner tonight which the recipe needed a red pepper for which I didn't have. However, resisted urge and made it without. Then really fancied garlic bread to go with it but again resisted the urge to head out. Currently craving frozen yogurt, think I'm just trying to find any excuse to head to SM!January grocery challenge £0/£300

Hi!
I'm a little late to the party, but I'd like to join in, please.
This month is a bit tight, but we have bits in the store cupboard we can use, so I'm going to aim for £200...
Have already done one shop this year. It came to £25.17, so that leaves £174.83.:T Weight Loss (Start Weight 14st 12lb): 5/24 lbs :T

I need to take back my NSD claim for today, just dropped boys off at my mum's and hubby came with me, we needed bin bags to put Christmas decs into and ended up spending £14.24 at b&m.
However, not looking at this at a bad thing. Spent £5.97 on bin liners, £1 on a photo frame for hubby's anniversary present (had allowed £3.50, so very pleased with this) £1.29 on kitchen towels, £1.99 on a sealed money box for hubby, he's saving it for kids to share when we go on holiday, and already put a load of loose change in it and my luxury item £3.99 on a vintage looking canvas picture, of a teddy bear on an old suitcase for the playroom.
And still under budget so far for this weekLoving life to the full, just need purse full too

My first weekly shop of the year came to £47.02 thanks to A1di and L1dl. The best bit of all is the buzz I got from playing on the net and realising that the same shop would have been £15.51 more expensive at Mr M's where I usually shop!20p Savers (£22.20/£100)

I have stayed away from the supermarket but did have to go and buy shin pads for ds1 as he is starting football at school on Monday. It drives me mad having to splash out on something he will wear 6 times:mad:
I also got sports bottle so the big two boys can take juice to school instead of bottles of flavoured water, saving me £4 per week:money:
Today we had our second meal off the meal plan, this is really working well so far. Today was soup and cheese rolls for a grand total of £2(ish)

Shopping has been delivered - minus the leek I needed for homemade soup!
I sent back a few substitutes which I think the pickers sent for a laugh. And some items were missing so pending refund, this should take £88.95 from this months budget
