I'm actually wondering whether to just declare my hope to spend £2400 on food for the year & be done with it. If we can stick to £200 a month that should be doable. So maybe I will do that too thread mods please." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

New year, new start! I have tried the grocery challenge a couple of times before but have never been completely successful. Having said that I have learnt so much from these threads and my grocery bill is much lower than it used to be but I would love to be super organised, meal plan weekly and eat healthy foods with lots of cooking from scratch. I'm also going to try to get my teenage son involved too! I'm going to aim for £250 for the month which I hope is realistic.January grocery challenge £0/£300

May I join please? £100 for Jan as the freezer and cupboards are stuffed to the gunnels and I should only need to buy fruit and veg....2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000

Can I join too please? Two adults, two children here. Two guinea pigs joining us in January. Total budget of £300.
I'm tempted to take it all out in cash at the start of the month and just use cash but I'm afraid that it would go on other things....Separated 17/06/10, now dealing with the falloutHouse sold and debt cleared 23rd May 2014. Now saving to get married!Current savings £00 -
Seriously debated putting my budget up this month cos of chrimbo (my month started today (21st) and runs till 20th Jan), but have decided against it. Hoping I can recoup any extravagance later in the month. As a concession I have added a bit extra to my non grocery budget to cover going out, so that xmas still feels jolly
Anyhoo, that means grocery budget is £250 again this month0 -
I've attempted to do this before and managed for a couple of months and then fallen off the wagon but I really need to get a grip on the finances. My OH is now semi-retired and so our income has dropped dramatically. So with the 2 of us and 2 other adult children and a dog I am aiming for £350 to start with. After Christmas I will do an inventory of the freezer and create some meal plans around that.Books - the original virtual reality.

Hiya all
I am back again to start afresh. Am really looking forward to the new year. Could you please put me down for £240.00 for January. This is for 2 adults and 2 children. Am easing my way back into cooking from scratch and will adjust my budget accordingly as the months go on. Am in for the long haul. Good luck to all. And many thanks to all who run the thread.
