Not Band Aid, just some ebay sellers, 4 cases open in 2 days from sellers in a panic that their item hasn't arrived, posted by 2nd class post and on the 4th day after purchase and posting they are screaming where is my stuff, now I could understand if what I was selling was festive or had the potential to be a gift but they aren't.
Mental note to self, do not sell in December.
The ebay estimates don't help either, they assume stuff arrives with buyer before you even post it. Keep an eye on your dash as well as a small sellers will struggle with too many INRs in a short period.
I'm closing sales down shortly - just holding my never for a few more days yet.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I just had a 'request' on Ebay that asked and answered their own question. "Just wondered where this item is, I expect it's held up in Christmas post". Well why ask?.0
-
And the inevitable "Why don't you have tracking on that 99p item!". I hate eBay at christmas!0
-
I am stopping selling this weekend, it's not worth the risk of items getting delayed and I would not want to disappoint my buyers.
On the other hand, I purchased some birthday cards from a seller who supposedly dispatched within one day, the cards were dispatched 3 days after purchase and have still not arrived a further week later, I do not consider this satisfactory - some sellers don't help themselves!0 -
Had a few queries myself, either the scammers pop up more at christmas or the postal service genuinely goes to carp, probably a bit of both.
Fortunately no cases opened yet, just messages which are quickly replied to, maybe buyers are getting smarter though, because with me, opening a case = instant addition to the block list0 -

Me too - Monday will be my last dispatch day so my shop will go on holiday mode after lunch on Monday. I usually reopen it on Christmas Eve. My theory being that no one would buy on Christmas Eve and expect delivery for Christmas Day - but then again - it is eBay :rotfl:
Sales have been really slow since a lot of the eBay changes (I can't offer a next day service as I can't always get to a post office but all my stuff will fit in a post box) so it's not like I'm going to miss out on a huge amount of sales. I'm going to pack eBay up once my current stock has gone, but sales are that slow I'll probably still be selling it next year!0 -
From a buyers POV, it is super frustrating when you pay a lot of money for an item, receive no notification that it's been shipped and no response AT ALL when I politely ask a) if it has actually been posted and b) is there any tracking??
I am happy to wait, but I really, really want this item and if the seller has been mugged by elves on the way to the post office and I'm not actually getting it, I'd like to know so I can buy one of the only three that are left for sale on Ebay.
Everything else I have bought, in the same time frame, has been delivered.0 -

From a seller POV though why would a buyer need to ask if something has been dispatched, do they not believe the dispatch icon? As for tracking, again why would a buyer need to know if there was tracking or not, the listing will state the postage method.
eBay has made me suspicious over the years and when I send something 2 nd class as per my listing and I get a buyer ask about tracking, I assume they are going to be dodgy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Soolin, you should ask pertinent questions before making veiled implications. Or read my post properly. I clearly say that I have received no notification regarding despatch. The seller hasn't updated the despatch icon - or I wouldn't have needed to ask  The listing stated it would be sent tracked with an estimated delivery date of Wednesday 11th. The seller hasn't upload tracking information. I always update when an item is despatched and include tracking information, where necessary.
The auction ended a week ago and I have heard NOTHING from the seller - and they've not bothered to update Ebay. I sent a polite e-mail asking them to confirm they've sent the item. Nothing. Not a peep.
Ebay has made me suspicious that the seller isn't happy with the price the item sold for and is therefore not going to bother to send it. Then I have to wait 8 days after opening a case to get Ebay to take any action. Could be a nice way for the seller to hang onto my money over the Christmas period.0
