No sympathy from me either. You walked out very pleased with what you had paid - you should be annoyed with yourself not Morrisons.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

  • I would just take it back and buy where you saw the best deal.
  • If I buy anything like this in a shop, I google the price to make sure the price is fair. It's not hard

Unfortunately I was in a similar situation with a BA flight a few years ago. I saw an acceptable fare, paid it, then a few days later the fare halved. My view was the same as yours i.e. BA should refund me the difference but after a few direct thoughts/insults on another forum I saw their point.

I tend to do two things these days:

    1) research the market before buying
    2) accept that if I see it cheaper afterwards, it's fine, I was happy to pay the price I did

To the poster who commented on ambience at Morrisons, that made me chuckle! :rotfl:
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.

I paid £59 which I didn't think would be overpriced as I assumed they were like all supermarkets they were competing for our business.

So you admit that you just "assumed" that it was a good price and had not performed any checking prior to purchasing.
Morrisons have done absolutely nothing wrong, you on the other hand have accused Morrisons of ripping you off which is completely incorrect.
I assume you are an adult. As an adult you need to accept the decision on where you decide to purchase is 100% yours
You failed to confirm that the price offered was the best price...you ended up paying more than you could have paid elsewhere due to your lack of effort....you ripped yourself off then
  • Supermarkets price fixing grrrrr

Put them all in jail, the price of every item should the the same everywhere based on a constantly fluctuating market.

...or maybe not, because that would be rubbish

Anyway, the lesson is that if you are price sensitive (as opposed to just wanting it asap) then always check online. For many items you can find a 'high street' price that is not far off the internet price. Then just decide whether you want to wait a few days for attempted delivery notice, or have it in your hand asap.

so you post your rant in the first board on this forum (which happens to be dedicated to discussing credit cards) claiming you have been ripped off and yet in your post you admit you did no price comparisons at all before buying an item at its advertised price just because you think "everything" is cheap from a given retailer

bit of a pattern don't you think

lesson in life number xxx? Think before you rush in?!!!!
Research the costs of "major" items before buying, look at how forums are structured before you post. Don't keep repeating mistakes

I checked other sellers and even found John Lewis was selling for the same £39 !

If it was a few pounds extra I wouldn't have been bothered, but this was half the cost the others were selling at.
    Do Morrisons sell calculators too?
