Hi everyone. So I managed to catch up on c.20 pages last night, phew. I promised myself I won't leave it so long again because I didn't speak two words to hubby all night because i was so focused on the thread.
No figures to update but just wanted to say hi to the newbies, hi again to the 'oldies', well done to everyone and good luck for the remainder of 2015.

Great payments big and small coming in already, it's amazing what you can do when you are motivated. Really looking forward to seeing the total for January, I wonder whether we beat last years?

Been in touch with my mortgage provider, as I said in an earlier post because there was a £700 difference in what I'd paid and what the balance was but it turns out that that was interest for last year!!!! This makes me even more determined to pay it off this year if I can earn/make/save/win/find another couple of grand!!!!!

Loads of fab payment already this year. It would be interesting to know if we beat last year's monthly total. That could be a good competition to keep going for the rest of the year :)

My loan payment has gone out this morning however my loan total hasn't changed yet and I only count the actual amount that has come off the debt. I don't count the interest. So I have to wait til the balance updates so I know how much it has gone down by. Probably tomorrow now.

Keep up the good work everyone

Ok so I've been fiddling around and putting it off. Thinking about how having that buffer of savings makes me feel. Banging my head about wanting to actually start moving with the debt repayment.

And so I bit the bullet and, as we are told to, paid off my Next card with my savings. Eeeek. It's done now. I either commit to doing this or I don't. So now the payment for my Next will get added to my automatic payment to my credit card. This year really is now or never.

    I don't know how I feel. A bit panicked? A lot panicked! :p

  • Well while there's not a lot of debt paying going on at this point in the month I am busy trying to sort out money in other ways! I spent this evening filling out tax relief claim forms for the fees I have to pay to be registered to do my job for the last 3 years - if my maths are right I could end up with an extra £100 for half an hours work which wouldn't be bad at all - but I won't count my chickens until the money is in my bank! ;)

Also signed for the overtime money I should be due for working over xmas as well as getting a little bit more in next month - very rare where I work so all good! :A

Still 9 days to payday - January seems to be stretching out forever which in some ways is a very good thing (got loads of jobs around the house finished that I've ignored for ages, got loads of reading done) is also a bad thing as I've only got about £7 in the bank until next Friday! :rotfl:Ah well, need to test the budget somehow!
