Sorry ive been AWOL. Had a horrible couple of month and unfortunately when I'm down I spend. I have managed to not increase my debt but I have spent every spare penny I've had so there has been no overpayments. This update is just my standard DD's that have gone out over the last two months.
Totals now stand at
#115 2102.56/4229
It does feel good to break the 2k barrier though
Note to self... Must try harder!!0 -

Hey sorry to hear you've been down, We all have bad times it's how you respond to it that makes you better. To look at the positive side you spent more than you wanted to but you have not increased your debt, So does it matter that it takes you a few months longer to pay it all off? In the grand scheme of life does that really matter?

Thank you. You are totally right, a couple of extra months is nothing really. I'm just a bit mad at myself as I was doing so well. I'm going to try and get some things listed on eBay to give me a kick start again. Once I get back into the swing of things ill be fine, it's just getting back into the right mindset.
Thank you once again0 -

Hello,
I'm new to this forum. I've managed, over the last few years, to accumulate over £10,000 of debt... I'm so embarrassed, my partner doesn't know and I'm absolutely determined to get rid of it. I've done a balance transfer for half of it to a 0% credit card, which is staying locked in my filing cabinet so I can't use it. It's killing me to pay out £400+ a month but I am so desperate to get rid of this weight around my neck. So I came here for moral support! I would like to pay off £5,000 by Christmas this year, leaving me just over one more year to pay off the rest (my 0% interest will be up in March 2017).
So the total I owe is £11,143.47 (Oh god! Putting in a pretty colour doesn't help!)
I want to pay off £5,000 by Christmas.
I have started today by cancelling my Netflix, gym membership (that I only use to swim - what a waste!) and a couple of other debits. I also cancelled my Amazon Prime membership - I had a free trial and thought I'd put down on my calendar the date to cancel, but obviously didn't, so now I'm getting a refund of £79 as I haven't used the benefits - hurrah!
Any support would be much appreciated. I can't believe I owe so much. I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone!Month 2 (June 2015) - £10,672.12 owing
Month 1 (May 2015) - £11,143.47 owing0 -

HeyWelcome to the thread
You will find everyone here really supportive, i feel like this is a second on-line home. I pop here all the time to keep me motivated. (which it has done)
Everyone here is in the same boat, we all have debt and are all working hard to pay it off as quickly as we can.
My debt now is all 0%- i have learnt so much other the last couple of months, i joined quidco (earning cash back nicely) I balanced transferred over debt to 0% - changed bank accounts, got cheaper utilities (and earned cash back for doing it too) :money:
I really wish i had of found this site sooner, i now get excited for payday to pay off our debts rather than blowing endless amounts of money on things we really do not need.
You will soon have your debt sorted- no need to be embarrassed, what is done is done, its history- it cant be re-written, its how you managed now (the present) that will look after your future x
I look forward to seeing your progressEvery 1% counts

Evening, everybody! I hope you all had a fantastic bank holiday weekend. I've been stuck in work on nights  On the plus side, it means my spends are limited!
Sold an old phone to Envirophone yesterday, and I've got another one to pop on eBay when I get a chance. It's quite a decent phone, so I should be able to put a chunk towards my loan. I've just been lazy in not doing it before now, I probably would have got more for it a couple of months ago.
I'll do a full update when I finish these nights, along with the all-important total for April! Hint... you all did brilliantly :T0 -
Hi, can I join in?
I'd like to set myself the challenge of halving my debt, so paying off £6000 by Christmas. Really need the motivation so hope this challenge will help!
Thanks!0
