    Hi all,
Struggling this month, all my own doing, we have been promising to decorate the kids rooms for ages so decided to start this week. As a result, I have pushed up the debt on my c/c. Will try to stay on track for the year though. Need to stay focused on debt busting so might check in more often, everyone on this thread is so supportive it helps keep me motivated.

    Hey all.

Well what a depressive day

Usually when im fed up i would be online shopping to "cheer myself up" - as im on a debt free mission i found myself here to stop the spending spree and get some motivation to continue debt busting.

I am kinda questioning "what's the point" - the majority of us working in the public sector are now going to be screwed :(

    Moan over :rotfl:

Hello all.i don't seem to be doing much debt busting but I am number crunching and saving some pennies. the good thing about it warming up is that I'm saving around £50 a month by not topping the meter up which is great.

Right, nights finished... IT'S UPDATE TIME!

It's been absolutely manic at work, I've never worked to hard or so long. 12 hour shifts of constant, CONSTANT mithering, phone calls, distractions etc. I'm so knackered.

On the plus side, it will die down in the next few days and go back to normality.

First of all, a GRAND welcome to our newbies!!!

    Hello,

I'm new to this forum. I've managed, over the last few years, to accumulate over £10,000 of debt... I'm so embarrassed, my partner doesn't know and I'm absolutely determined to get rid of it. I've done a balance transfer for half of it to a 0% credit card, which is staying locked in my filing cabinet so I can't use it. It's killing me to pay out £400+ a month but I am so desperate to get rid of this weight around my neck. So I came here for moral support! I would like to pay off £5,000 by Christmas this year, leaving me just over one more year to pay off the rest (my 0% interest will be up in March 2017).

So the total I owe is £11,143.47 (Oh god! Putting in a pretty colour doesn't help!)

I want to pay off £5,000 by Christmas.

I have started today by cancelling my Netflix, gym membership (that I only use to swim - what a waste!) and a couple of other debits. I also cancelled my Amazon Prime membership - I had a free trial and thought I'd put down on my calendar the date to cancel, but obviously didn't, so now I'm getting a refund of £79 as I haven't used the benefits - hurrah!

Any support would be much appreciated. I can't believe I owe so much. I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone!

You don't need to be embarrassed on here. We're all in the same boat, and you're going in the right direction. We're here to help  You're number #171.
