Finally... better late than never... our grand total for April, and it was a GRAND total (say that in an Irish accent for better effect), was...

    £59,874.96

That's over 50% more than we managed to collectively pay in April last year! Well done each and every one of you.

In addition, we're already 76% of the way to last year's May total :T:T:T I'm proud of us :rotfl:

I am going to struggle to pay off by the end of 2015 but that is the aim! Did well last couple of months but won't be so good this month as lots of expenses needed to be met. Still...I am focussing on that end of year whenever I am thinking about spending money...just so want to be debt free.

Hi Polly! Of course you can. It'll be a few days before I can update the all-knowing spreadsheet, but welcome in the meantime  Want me to put you down for the £8,830 figure in your sig?

    Hello everybody!!

Sorry I've been away for a little while - got a bit low so took myself away, which was probably the worst thing to do, but I am BACK (and better than ever?! ) so here goes.

I've updated my sig anyway but to put some context to it...
I had slowly been banking some monies in my savings account but was reluctant to use it as I knew I had to get a new car. Well today - I got that car. So Pidge_Jen - it must be the month for it! :p As others have said, I don't view it as debt as it's a necessary investment for my job (it is a debt tho). It is also a newer model so has cost slightly more than my last banger but car tax is £20 and updated my insurance for all of £4.23 (was worried I'd have to take out a new policy but no) so it's already saved me money. I have a repayment plan set-up (with my partner so 0% interest) and it means I have today thrown the £660 of savings towards the Lloyds CC!! :rotfl:

Soooo chuffed!! The remaining £143 may even get paid off before payday if my mileage claims come in. But it means come the end of May I will be able to shred that bad boy! It may also mean I'll have no owed debts to Lloyds so may be able to switch bank accounts for a cashback reward or one of the many deals out there.

I felt so gutted I wasn't moving the money to the CC bill - very non-MSE and really wanted to do it to be able to tell you guys! Although the car is a huge purchase it is manageable and gives me independence and employability, I've also STILL been able to bust some debt despite the purchase, so feeling much, much better!

    £660 / £805.94 Lloyds CC =
    #69 £2,215.26 / £17,771.40 12%

Sending love to everyone, especially those new or struggling as I've definitely been there the last few weeks. :heartpuls

    L. xx

PS: Not to mention the politics too much but my contract is up in August and I work in the ARTS so I'm well and truly.. :wall: wahey!

Some exciting news - we had an offer accepted for a flat today! We will be on the hunt for a new mortgage and skrimping everything for some furniture as well, and needless to say, our debt is now through the roof!

I am once again going to bow out for a few weeks, til everything is sorted. As we've borrowed a little bit from OH's aunt and uncle, we need to evaluate how much we now owe, but by the time contracts exchange, we will also have 2 more pay days to help us out, and OH also has 6months back pay due in 2 weeks.

£11 sent to the credit card we bought a new car got offered a 0% deal on my card so put £2500 on it to get the car but we've still to sell the old one which we will get £2500 from a dealership so technically we've not added to our debt but all our debt is 0% except £400 on the credit card which I can clear this month so even tho my card has increased we'll be saving money in the long run just waiting for the papers to come back to get our private plate off our old car xx
