I've switched several times now. Both joint and sole accounts and not had a problem so far. In the latest switches with Yorkshire Bank I've switched accounts I don't use. So no effect on direct debits etc. The two switches will have netted me £300 the majority of which will come straight off my debt. £300 for a couple of phone calls and filling a couple of forms in. In total I've probably earned about £800 in switching incentives. Sadly about £300 of that was before my LBM.
Current accounts can be a good source of income these days if you get the right ones., and every penny counts when trying to become debt free.

    Hello all

Total newbie here, but feeling I need a community to spur me on. OH perhaps not on the same page with the old clearing debts mission so its down to me to take charge.

Can I have a number please and then there's no going back!

Big scary, impossible (?) target of £30,681

    Many thanks

Don't think it's impossible. Can you realistically clear 30k by xmas? Are you ok with looking at that amount? If you can/are great... start. If not set a target for the year. That's what I've done with 15k to aim for but my total debts are much higher.
Also do the snowball calculator on whatsthecost, yo can save hundreds or thousands in interest payments. Good Luck x

Rubywhatashmoo how are you getting on with the Eyre affair? I really enjoyed it when I read it on holiday year before last.

I'm really enjoying it! I read it and the next couple of books in the series but it was about 8 years ago now so I don't remember the story at all which is nice as it's like reading a new book :rotfl:

  • I'm out tomorrow after work and working nights over the weekend so I'm adding my payments tonight so they make it onto the February total!

    #057: £3464.25 / £8202 42.2%

Smashed 40% and still in February so am very happy with that! :j Did cheat a bit by making OH pay off a card but even so I'm making progress - this month have cleared my OD and finished paying my Mum back the deposit for our house! Should hit the halfway mark next month if all goes to plan so will be all downhill from there :p Can't honestly imagine I'll keep this pace up long enough to clear it but am trying to push on as best I can while the motivation is still lingering! :D

I didn't realise there were others in the series! I might have to check them out for my next holiday:)
