Caterina wrote:Ann, do you live anywhere near Peckham/New Cross/Brixton? There is a very interesting community scheme there, if you are on low income you can get a great big bag of organic veg (or fruit) for £7!
I used to use Farmaround but not happy with the erratic quality of their goods, especially since the owner moved to Yorkshire, things have gone downhill, veg used to be good but I have always found the fruit unripe and not of great quality. A friend of mine still uses them for veg and likes them very much - obviously different people have different experiences!
Apparently Riverford is starting London deliveries, I have heard wonders of their boxes, people in this forum really rave about them.
Hope you find a good box scheme! If you want to find out more about the Peckham box scheme pm me.

I had a look at Riverford and they DO look fantastic but sadly they do not deliver in my area yet... Sob! also had a look at Fair organics but I dont think they deliver to my area either.. so back to the drawing board.!0 -

You could contact the Women's Environmental Network, they are based in E London and have a lot of food projects, they might be able to help more!
Their website is: http://www.wen.org.uk/
Good luck

Is there anything listed for Newcastle or Gateshead in Tyne & Wear
Mum gets a box which is mostly local organic produce, with a few imported organic items (i.e. oranges) and a few non-organic but farm-grown and still local items, thrown in.Operation Get in Shape

Super:AI ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

There's a very useful (and up to date) site called bigbarn that has lots of local box schemes and suppliers shown on a map and listed. All you need to do is to type your post code into the site:-
