Hi all, popping over to this board as I am now officially in my 2nd trimester!
Not much to report, still tired, still being sick but apart from that nothing.

Scan in a few days so suspect it will all feel a bit more real after that!

  • Just having a little bit of rant, don't mind me.

I feel like there are certain members of my department at work (manager included) who are trying to make me look incompetent and that my pregnancy is having a negative impact on my work. This is not the case at all, and i can prove it. I have spoken to people higher than my manager and they are in agreement with me. However it does not make my day to day working life any better and stresses me quite a bit when i'm wondering what will happen next.

For example, today my manager called me in to his office for a mistake another member of our department made, it felt like a proper telling off. When i went to say what i thought and what had happened he said "i don't want to know what has gone on, I don't care. I'm nipping it in the bud now!"

Just feel miserable at work lately and it makes me dread each day.

Have you got any annual leave you could put in every few weeks til you break up to split it up? It’s not on but I’d let as much as youn can fly over your head

  • Unfortunately not, I’ve only got 13days left to work before Christmas leave (21st-3rd Jan) then I’ll not have any leave until April. I know I just have to get on with things but I hate being negative and that’s how I’m being made to feel.

Even between then and April you’ll build up al. Depends how you do it and how your workplace works but it should be at least a week until end March. I think Easter’s late next year so we’ll miss out on them bank hols. Plus, while not ideal, you can break up any time after 29 weeks so if it’s getting too much it’s something to consider. It’s pretty rubbish of them mind.

HappyLassie - Feel your pain, my work is not much fun at the minute (not that I have told work yet but there is a massive power struggle going on and as a result its all very negative and trying to show each other up).

Would it be worth following up the conversation with an email to your manager - i.e. "as per our earlier conversation, I would like to assist you in your efforts to "nip this in the bud" by explaining what happened so that the true root cause can be addressed.

That lkind of email - at least you would feel like you have had your say and if things got worse, you would have a record.

  • Hi ladies,

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

I’m moving over from the less than 12 weeks board after having our scan today. It confirmed I am 12 weeks today and due date is exactly as I thought.

How soon did you all start to buy things for baby? After seeing it today it feels a lot more real and I can’t wait to start shopping but I don’t know if it’s too early.

We haven’t even told anyone apart from my parents yet. We were planning to after the scan but I’m tempted to wait a couple more weeks for the results of the screening tests.
  • Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I am 16 +3 now, heard the little hearbeat yesterday at my midwife appointment which was lovely and reassuring. Finally starting to show now too.. although that may be Christmas bloat haha!

Can'tt wait for my scan in January.

Ginger - We still haven't bought anything yet, not sure when I will. I just don't feel inspired at the moment hoping after my 20 week scan when I find out what I am having it will be easier to start shopping. I think as I know I want to find out, my mind wants to hold out whereas if it was going to be a surprise I would probably be shopping neutral items already.
  • Welcome Ginger :)
We started buying after our gender scan at just over 16 weeks.
I am 20 weeks + 5 days now. We had our scan yesterday which confirmed our gender scan, a little girl will be joining our family. All is well ☺️
