I thought the same Mrs Nubs - super quiet!! I kept peeking in to see if there was anything new! I'm 17 + 4 today, been to a couple or antenatal classes and my GTT fasting came back high so tracking sugars. I'm still getting sickness too, seems to be if I get too hungry I'm sick. Can't wait to feel kicks! Heard the heartbeat the other day, so exciting!0

Hi all!
I've been AWOL on holiday in NZ for 3 weeks which was...interesting! I was worried that after my hospital admission the week before we left there could be some complications while we were away but apart from continuing sickness I was ok. I'm still not gaining weight though - I lost 7 kg from being so ill before we left but my new tablets have allowed me to eat, even if In still feel sick and I took full advantage but have only gained less than 1 kg back.
The flights there were ok, although involved lots of weeing. All went well while we were there, including a scan which we booked privately so OHs parents could be more part of the pregnancy and we found out we are having a little boyI was hoping it would feel a little more real after we found out the gender but honestly I still feel really detached from it all which is stressing me out! I keep expecting to feel movement but no sign yet, maybe that will feel more real.
Anomaly scan is a week on monday which I'm looking forward to

Glad to see some updates and that everyone is doing ok (bar the pesky sickness - mine has gone aside from when I am really hungry).
Kirsty - I'm also a little concerned I've not put any weight on - I am 16+1 today, but everyone says it's normal as I am quite petite, and I can definitely see my shape changing so I guess I shouldn't be too concerned. Congratulations on being Team Blue!
I sadly lost my Nan this week, but knowing she knew about the baby and was so excited has given us all some comfort, and I think it's really helping me with the shock and upset as I know I can't get myself too worked up.
Midwife next week - are you always offered to hear HB or is that an area-by-area thing?0 -

Sorry to hear about your Nan NBDS, but I hope it does comfort you that she was so happy about your news. We lost my MIL soon after our wedding, but it is a comfort to have shared that with her and have happy memories of the time before she died.
I'm away from home, so not sure of my weight now, but I hadn't put on any up to 17 weeks. It was some redistribution, to my bump from elsewhere. The midwife didn't even weigh me, so i think its not a concern (NHS says most of the weight come on in later pregnancy anyway). My fundal height was normal, and the heartbeat was good!
I think the heartbeat varies by midwife, some don't do it as it can be hard to find and then lead to unnecessary worry. I was quite grateful to hear mine, I hope you do too.0 -
So sorry to hear about your nan NBDS, sending big hugs
Had my 16 week mw appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat. Also saw the consultant this morning and been put on aspirin as I have a family history of high blood pressure.
I've lost 3kg since getting pregnant which I was a bit worried about but the midwife said it was fine and shouldn't stop the baby growing healthily.
I wish I was showing, feel like a bit of a fraud at the moment!0 -
Thank you everyone. Been a very tough week but I definitely think the baby has helped everyone feel a little bit more positive.
You've made me feel less anxious about lack of ballooning (I'm sure I'd be moaning if I had!). MrsNubs I feel exactly the same, I have my badge for the tube now but feel a bit silly wearing it!
MW tomorrow, hoping I will hear HB like you guys, must be lovely x0 -
My 16 week appointment still hasn't happened - I'm booked in for next Tuesday when I'll be 19+5 which is a bit annoying as 2 appointments have been cancelled but not much I can do. Luckily I have a doppler at home which makes me happier as I can hear the heartbeat myself (note, I only have this as I trained as a midwife and wouldn't necessarily advocate as it's not always easy to find and can cause stress!)
I'm booked in for my flu jab on Monday before my scan, not had it before and I'm not a fan of needles so wish me luck :rotfl:
MrsNubs I've still only gained minimal weight back after my 7kg loss (still only at 1kg back on) but I have a bump forming. Slowly but surely!

Why has it taken so long Kirsty? That's so annoying!! Hopefully you'll start feeling movement soon, I've felt some kicks but nothing regular or really defined yet. Hope everyone is well.0

I was on holiday until 17 weeks and then had 2 appointments cancelled for the midwife so am seeing her on Tuesday. Annoying but I'm hoping to persuade her to do my whooping cough jab while I'm there to kill 2 birds with one stone...
I'm getting really nervous about my 20 week scan tomorrow - one of my apps has a comments section for each week and the comments have worried me a bit. Must remember not to read those!!
