That's pants Logie :( and very unfair. Is term time working an option where you are? I had to do this from when the kids were young right up until I left my job. I was lucky enough to work somewhere that it was an option ( made me the most hated person in the offices I worked in but hey ho :rotfl: ) It meant slightly less salary each month but that was bearable as it was levelled out over the year. No school holiday child care costs either.
It's worth finding out. Most places that have a work/life balance policy have to consider reasonable requests for alternative working patterns.

Sadly, considering we are part of the 'women and family' branch it doesn't go both ways at work. Flexible working contracts are very difficult to get and have to be reapplied for every 6 months. They just say that we provide a 24/7/365 service and therefore staff have to work all shifts. People who need school holidays off work end up leaving/ working zero hours contracts and do bank shifts. This isn't an option for me as we are not in a position to risk the bank shifts drying up.
DH is getting more insistent that I should look into a different career as this one is so antisocial and inflexible :( The thing is that I love the work, it's just the terms and conditions that are the problem

I think it is funny sometimes how the older ones amongst us love to reminisce about the good old days. You know, the memories where we all only paid 1p for a box of chocs in Ts (if we could find any stock after visiting several stores that is).

However, wind forward a couple of years to the present. Switch on your pc, log on to A.com, order 20 x Heroes/Roses and a few fillers and go back to watching tv.

The next day the delivery man turns up with 27 boxes (think he got a bit confused) and the receipt shows that I paid £30 for 20 boxes, generating an apg of £44.

I know it is not as good as the old dtd or apg glitches of a few years ago, but hey, it'll do me fine..:D:D

    This shop actually cost £37.74.

Due to the ASDA Price Guarantee, you're entitled to a voucher of £44.83:

0.17 x ASDA Bananas by Weight per kg £0.11 £0.11
0.23 x ASDA Onions by Weight per kg £0.17 N/A
    2 x ASDA Chosen by You Cherryade Sugar Free (2L) £1.00 £0.90
    1 x Haribo Maoam Giant Strawberry Stripes £0.10 £0.10
    1 x Haribo Maoam Giant Sour Stripes (15g) £0.10 £0.10
    1 x Bisto for Chicken Gravy Granules (500g) £2.00 £2.00
    1 x Bisto Favourite Gravy Granules (500g) £2.00 £2.00
    1 x Swizzels Matlow Strawberry Refresher Bar £0.10 N/A
    1 x Candyland Flumps Mallow Twists (12g) £0.10 £0.10
2 x ASDA Chosen by You Tropical Fruit Crush Zero (2L) £1.00 £0.90
    10 x Cadbury Heroes (323g) £40.00 £20.00
    10 x Cadbury Roses (321g) £40.00 £20.00

This is better than paying 1p for chocs. Surely? But as I've only been here a year I see a lot of reminiscing to the big apg glitch. What was it? Wish I'd found this thread sooner.

    Good evening :)

Well our afternoons bowling was somewhat ruined by a bunch of what I can only describe as ignorant cretins :mad: who thought it was funny to take the pee out of the fact that DS2 was using the bowling ball launcher thingy. So angry that people can be like that  they weren't kids either. They were older teenagers.

I know he doesn't look obviously physically disabled, unless you pick up the awkward way he moves. It's actually quite a feat given his poor balance and co-ordination that he manages as much as he does.

Don't get me wrong, it went right over his head as most things like that do. He knew what was going on but just doesn't care in the slightest was others think of him (which is a blessing at times). It was upsetting for the rest of us though. I didn't cause a fuss about it because that would have given them attention they don't deserve. Instead I walked over and quietly told them that I hope when they have children of their own, they are born with no problems and they never have to listen to others making fun of them. None of them said a word and they left a few minutes later.

i am so sorry that some cretins ruined bowling for you fc, think you handled it so well i would have caused a scene, but as usual you handled the situation with dignity and control, so as not to upset your family any more :A:A:A

We have come across this more than once when the internet has been slow and it has been the sky box causing the problem. Try unplugging it (the phone line), reset your router and try again. IF this does solve it but you still want to get out of the contract the chances are that the BT engineer will not think of this!

One other thing, if you can, check that the line cord is not plugged into the ethernet socket on your sky box.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I think I might let DS2 just do it for me :rotfl::rotfl:
I've not had any flutters at all this time. i should have really. Im sure I still have an account somewhere with Grand National winnings in it. Just don't know which one and even then I'd probably not remember the password :D

    :rotfl:
Think I've got accounts with all the main ones from cashback deals, I tend to just use my Ladbrokes account though, makes things easier that way!

When I was watching the other night I put a football coupon on for the following day, one team ended up letting me down for £144  Was not amused!
