Glad to hear that your boss has realised your worth BB
Good luck with making your decision.
I've had work issues today. Logged on from home to my work e-rostering account to find that all of my annual leave requests for school holidays have been declined as there are too many other people offThey have given me part of October half term off but not a full week at all when the schools are off. The next leave calendar was only released last week and I was too busy at work to get on the computer. Usually they wait until everyone has had a chance to put requests in to allocate but it seems this year was first come first served  No family holiday for us this year
:(:( Have already drafted a letter to the boss to a) reduce my hours and b) complain about their unfair allocation this year
Could really do with a glass or two of wine tonight but after another trip to the Drs this morning I've got new tablets for my dizziness that I can't drink with....
Thats really pants, I hope the kids are all feeling much better and you all enjoyed christmas.
Hopefully they can sort something for you, everyone is entitled to a family break xx0 -

That's pants Logieand very unfair. Is term time working an option where you are? I had to do this from when the kids were young right up until I left my job. I was lucky enough to work somewhere that it was an option ( made me the most hated person in the offices I worked in but hey ho :rotfl: ) It meant slightly less salary each month but that was bearable as it was levelled out over the year. No school holiday child care costs either.
It's worth finding out. Most places that have a work/life balance policy have to consider reasonable requests for alternative working patterns.0 -
Evening all:D
Just caught up.
Nannylala, hugs hun.
FC well done on shaming those nasty *****.
Galloping mice, guns, lifting floorboards and traps. I fell about laughing at that. Mice training for the olympics:T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Things found in the loft............................don't ask.
I've spent two hours 'in communication' with BT, first on 'livechat' (the recommended means of communication NOT), and then on the phone.
I'm sick of our internet running between 0.27 and 0.5:mad:, when we're supposed to get a minimum of 2. Got talked through all the checks, unplugging, switching off, plugging back in, unscrewing sockets from the wall, going online to do umpteen speed checks:eek: etc, only to be told we needed an engineer to visit to redo all the checks:eek:. If he finds 'we' have damaged anything, they will charge us £129.99 to tell us.
Anyway I have decided that if I can get out of my broadband contract, because they are not supplying what I'm paying them for, then I'm signing up with callflowsolutions.
My friend Trev who lives three doors away, got his BT broadband contract cancelled penalty free for that reason, after an engineer told him that this area could never get more than 1.5, even if we lived next to the BT box. He signed up with callflowsolutions a month ago and he is getting download speeds of 32.63 :j. Its only £20ish +vat for unlimited internet. DS2 is delighted, as he's been complaining for ages.
My choccie shop arrived an hour ago, some were subbed for Quality Street. Will check the apg as soon as it shows as delivered.
Sorry for the long post chaps,

I am considering the pros and cons. I have never gone back to a job I have left before ?
There is an old saying 'never go back, look forward' and I've found it to be very true. I feel that if your boss took advantage before, then she will again. If you can afford not to go back then take advantage of the freedom. We were all aware of the long hours you worked.
Enjoy quaffing your champers and spending relaxed time with hubby.

Having read this by the wise FC, it could be a solution if you're feeling torn. Or you could work til she finds a replacement. On the other hand, see what hubby says. He might be pleased to have a non knackered wife for a change;)
