Interesting to see the PR from the energy companies being redistributed here. Yes as diesel became more popular more work had to be done on crude to increase the yield of diesel, but all crude is refined, cracked or processed before being delivered as a product. The investment in the technology has been made, the flow process is working (on all of the various sweetnesses of crudes) so price differentials from the supplier follow the price mantra, whatever we can get. No supplier is storing crude and waiting for it to separate out naturally.

Well I suppose the clue is in your username Mr Esso!

What claptrap! Your highly competitively priced high quality runner beans, bicycles, clothing and pretty much everything else are imported - many on aeroplanes - what the hell does importing have to do with the price of eggs?

It is still possible anytime I fancy to get 100kg of myself exported or imported several hundred kilometers, including life support facilities to keep me fresh at 38,000 feet for less than twenty-five quid. I can also carry another 20kg about myself for no further charge, although they won't let me carry petrol, so that must be what you are getting at?

Are you really trying to suggest that the 20p difference that existed recently between the net of tax price per litre in UK and in Europe is because UK is an island or something?

Currently, because of their highly dishonest "Clubcard FuelSave" promotion, if I'd like to spend £500 on shopping in Tesco, I can fill up for 20p per litre less than you. Erm ... why is that? Is their's not imported?
