They've got until midnight, so the station is probably waiting until after rush hour to squeeze the extra profit out.

  • Sainsbury's has today announced that it too is cutting unleaded prices today, following yesterday's cuts announced by Asda, Morrisons and Tesco.

    Asda CANFORD HEATH sells petrol.

About 17 miles from Fordingbridge ?

Obviously not worth making a special journey, but if you're passing .....

    I'm never passing. ;)

The Shell station 400m from my work has unleaded at 117.9 and diesel at 123.9 atm.
  • All the small Asda stores that they took over from Netto don't have petrol stations attacted. Unless it has been built on at a later date on spare adjacent land.

Why are we putting up with these insulting wait for it, wait for it, in 2 days time we'll drop the price antics from the retailers ?

I think the real price has dropped nearer 8p per litre since the UK supermarkets' last "let's hold hands and all drop our prices together" barefaced cartel-like anti-competitive controlled price drop. Almost every other country in Europe has been dropping prices daily or even more often to keep pace with the OIL PRICE CRASH (read my lips) ...

    *** O-I-L ¨¨¨¨ P-R-I-C-E ¨¨¨¨ C-R-A-S-H ***

But maybe the UK consumers are just too ill-equipped or distracted or permanently stunned by smoke and mirrors all day long, every way they turn, to understand one market from the next.

Only 3 of the cheapest 10 within 15 miles of me are supermarkets

The cheapest 2 are nearly 2 pence a litre less than Asda.

It's time MSE canned the free PR they are doing for the supermarkets' uncompetitive and cosy arrangements.

I said a few days ago that I used to reckon on France being 8 to 16 pence a litre cheaper than here for diesel, but now it was 35 pence a litre between cheapest there and cheapest here.

Diesel will probably be under a Euro a litre in Belgium France and Luxembourg by the end of the year.

Perhaps MSE should be investigating why prices here aren't dropping as fast as elsewhere.
