Tesco, Morrisons & Sainsburys are doing something similar, just like they always do.

I think it's all related to the price of oil plummetting like a stone.

Any idea when the energy companies will be reducing the prices of their gas & electricity?

Hang on how does this work???
    (Smoke and mirrors excepted)

Motorists filling up at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco are set to benefit as the supermarkets are cutting petrol and diesel prices by up to 2p/litre.

Tesco's price cuts will take effect from this afternoon at all of its forecourts, whileAsda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's price reductions will take force tomorrow (29 November) at all of their outlets.
Unlike other supermarkets, Asda sets a national price cap across its 245 forecourts. So the price cuts means drivers will pay no more than 121.7p/litre for diesel and no more than 117.7p/litre for unleaded at Asda.

    Todays report says
The move follows a 2p/litre price cut on both unleaded and diesel on Saturday (6 December).

    So I make that

no more than 119.7p/litre for diesel ...at Asda (effective from last Saturday).

Yet with another 1p off today, the price of diesel will still be no more than 119.7p/litre

Presumably, from 28 November til today, Asda slapped a 1p/litre increase on the price of their fuel. I don't recall any MSE mention of that, which would have craeted quite a stir I'm sure, at a time of plummeting wholesale oil prices (and the government promising in their Autumn statement they were not changing duty rates)

The Tesco near us nearly always increases their fuel prices before a price cut.
  • Asda may have a national pricing policy, but all their forecourts don't reduce the price at the same time. Still atleast a day or two apart.

Not really news when all the Asdas I can think of within at least a 20 mile radius don't even sell petrol! Nor do my Morrisons or Sainsburys.... and the Tesco (6 miles away) is dearer than the Shell garage at the end of my road.

    Where do you live ?

I can't think of an ASDA that DOESN'T sell petrol where I live ...

... must be a dozen of them within a 20 mile radius.

Nearest one is just half a mile away.
Fortunately they also sell LPG :j at my local, which I think is the ONLY supermarket that does within a 20+ mile radius ...

... otherwise I'd be relying on SHELL ripping me off

Paid just 57.7 pence :rotfl: a litre yesterday at ASDA

A local Shell garage was 65.9 on Monday.

As for Morrisons, Sainsburys and Tescos selling petrol, again they ALL do, excepting the "Locals" "Expresses" and high street Metros etc.

There is one ASDA within 20 miles of where I live (Castlepoint - Bournemouth). It doesn't sell petrol.

I don't know where you live, but going purely on your avatar, neither the Asda store in Burton On Trent nor the one in Shepshed sell fuel.

With Asda having over 500 UK stores in the UK, and only 245 fuel station forecourts, you would be more likely to come across an Asda that doesn't sell fuel than one that does. ;)

In another two weeks it will be 111.9p.

But my double Nectar points voucher will have expired.
Still, 3% cashback from the Santander credit card.

House price going up, petrol price coming down.
I can't tell if it's one of my fantasies.

should I seek help, or just go with it?

    Asda CANFORD HEATH sells petrol.

About 17 miles from Fordingbridge ?

Obviously not worth making a special journey, but if you're passing .....

£1.17 at my local asda, then 4% cashback with that great luma card some of us have, meaning I pay just over £1.13 per litre.

    petrol

edit not been for petrol for 4 days, looks like its even cheaper now, ill find out later when I visit.

but if its 114.7 now that's just over £1.10 a litre with the luma, cant be bad
