The Sunday Times reckon that the Govt will bring pressure to bear and it'll get settled fairly quickly if the result is in 'our' favour. (Fairly quickly = 6 months plus). Gordon Brown will push for it as another plank in his election platform - 'greedy bankers', 'we won you a payout', etc.
But, of course, the Supreme Court rule on a matter of law - not necessarily common sense.....0 -
hello could someone tell me how the interest is calulated on a bank charges claim from 2007? Is it calculated daily/monthly.
The claim is for £4,500 and another for £9,000. ThanksSPC £500 well will try very hard.

What a surprise...not. Give it up. We won't ever see our charges.PhiltheBear wrote: »The Sunday Times reckon that the Govt will bring pressure to bear and it'll get settled fairly quickly if the result is in 'our' favour. I thought I'd point everyone to this article on the BBC news website about the bank charges reclaiming decision happening today.
They're looking for case studies - just fill in the form at the bottom of the article. Maybe mention that you found the article through this website to help its profile too?0 -
If today's ruling is in favour of the banks would i be able to claim back my money as my charges were taken from my benefits, and from what i have read on the forums banks are not allowed to be take money from benefits to pay for bank charges under the social security administrations act 1992. So would i have a case for claiming the money back?
I wondered lately why they had not been replying and letting me know whether they had made a decision on my case they were waiting for todays outcome0 -
News just in from BBC feed. Supreme Court has upheld the Banks Appeal. The OFT cannot challenge the Banks on the grounds laid out by them.
