Strip club scam

If by some miracle you do get the Police involved, what do you expect them to do ? What evidence do you have that shows the club has done anything wrong ? I'm not judging here, just asking ?[/QUOTE]
I'm not too sure is the simple answer. I have very little in the way of evidence and it's purely speculation based on vague memories and an unusual pattern of transactions.
I think im coming to terms with the fact that I've lost my money completely, or for the foreseeable future, but if that happens then i'm going to try and be as disruptive to the business as possible. I may have been stupid enough to somehow get scammed but I don't expect that they'll get away with it completely0 -

Make sure your insurance premiums are all up-to-date.
Some of these establishments have been known to have an affinity to individuals who like damaging knee caps.0 -

i would change tack on that, and remember it far more clearly, and have others who do too. you have been scammed/robbed and you want your money back. go and get it, by whatever means.0 -
Re-name thread to "dont take cards to a strip club when half cut and horny"0

I've had a quick look through this thread so apologies if I've misunderstood anything in the sequence of events.
First, OP, has your friend made a statement to the police about having intercepted the barman try to charge you £3000 for a beer? In my mind, this is enough to at least raise suspicion that this is what happened with the other transactions. And as you say, the pattern does look like they were trying amounts to see what would be approved by the card issuer. It is also unlikely that you'd be able to "renegotiate" within a minute, as you pointed out. I think you said a beer was £4.50, so they can't claim it was a decimal point error. Did you always buy the same one drink at a time or different orders throughout the evening?
I'd send a copy of their response to the timing concerns to the police, card issuers and any other relevant people, as it doesn't stack up to me. Also point out how you are pictured close to the drink(s) every time, which suggests that it was those that you were purchasing. Also send any other evidence which makes them look underhanded - not being able to provide proof of what you paid for but insisting that you were charged correctly.
Have you filled out the disputed transaction forms for each card or just told them by email/phone what happened?
Watchdog might be worth a go. They might not put it on TV because it's a strip club, but surely they wouldn't have to make that obvious and could look into it.0 -
Strip clubs/brothels exploit vulnerable women.
That was just fine with you and your friends.
But now a strip club/brothel has exploited a drunk man?
Oh no!0 -

I didn't, he paid for his own. The point I was making is that one would reasonably expect the amounts charged to be roughly the same... I also had cash on me and given that the only places ive ever been to charge £10/20 etc that would explain where my cash went
Also, I definitely remember thinking I was paying for a drink on my card at the bar (and my friends story verifies this) yet apparently I must have got them for free... which I suppose is quite possible when you're spending that sort of money but also slightly odd if the dance fee goes straight to the club i.e. where do they make their money from and why would they pay for drinks out of their own pockets?
Hi, " Reasonably expect the amount charged to be roughly the same"
Not really as they were self employed so they can/do charge what
they can.0
