2014 has been a good year for us home owners, and with the recent stamp duty cut 2015 is looking promising.
So how much did your house make this year ?
So perhaps the Op would let us know how much their London properties gone up this year?London house prices declined for the fifth month in a row in January and are forecast to keep on falling by surveyors and estate agents.
It was the only region in the UK to see prices fall last month, according to the latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors report, widely considered as a key barometer for the property market.0 -

London averages mean nothing.
properties like the OP's [in burgeoning areas, hitting the exact sweet spot in terms of the mix between desirability, affordability, tax treatment, etc] are bulletproof.FACT.0 -

If by this year you mean only from Jan 1st, I suspect that ours may have fallen, but they are still well up year on year. The thing is though, it doesn't really matter what your interim value is (unless you are remortgaging and it brings your LTV ratio into play), that also applies to the OP as well of course, but what does matter is the value when you sell, but far less so to owner occupiers as they are probably buying another property.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

One of the bears will probably say that if prices dropped after Jan, you could have saved money, but obviously you didn't have a crystal ball (they could have risen). What's important is that you are happy with your purchase, and even if prices do dip in the next few months, that will pale into insignificance over the next decade and beyond.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
I sold my btl, purchased 8 Oct 2013, 1 month void, nice percent increase over the year , bears will be pleased I am paying a lot of cgt and paid a lot of stamp duty. Hence I know exactly how much my house made in 2014 but modesty prevents me from saying. Did I mention I sold my previous btl n early 2008?

Sorry to correct you but bears are never pleased, it just isn't how they live their lives. They look for things to worry about, that's the way that they are wired.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
