    Q. How do you know when a debt collector is lying?

    A. His lips are moving.

Not quite true. You know a Debt Collector is lying if it is still trading.

Which reminds me - I got a letter the other week from a DRC that have gone bust... someone must be using old stock.

I don't think there's a magic wand? It's just not easy too understand all of this when I'm struggling to find the time to read it all properly and take it all in.

Okay so I'll send an email to BPA. Having a quick look round for a template email to them but haven't found one yet, anyone got a good one? Or is this on depending on the situation?

Found something on here to say ECP's have only took 1 person to court in the last few years so don't think that's a risk.

Sorry to be so simple but I really didn't have the time to digest it all so I appreciate all the help! You're a good group.

    all depends on the situation

forum regulars like myself are forming the opinion that nobody knows how to write letters or letters of complaint any more, it seems people expect templates for every matter

I believe it would take you 5 to 10 minutes to knock up a BPA email of complaint , tops

ps:- the guy at challengethefine dot com probably has a degree too, but seems to have got a good grasp of this topic as well , never mind the time !

I can assure you that if ECP ever did try to take this to court, you will have to "find the time"

Wow someone is a bit cranky. Not everyone has the time to become an expert on Parking Fines, but clearly you have so respect :T.

Anyway I appreciate the help, I'll get an email sent over ASAP and try to not bother you people again

Except they are not parking "fines", they are invoices!
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

expect to do some work yourself, dont expect to be spoon fed everything, I am sure that at UNI or college you have to spend the time on research and making it your own work, not just copy and paste it all from templates

we are not here at your beck and call, you have had plenty of time to email the BPA once you were told what to do

and the first thing you should have learned was to call them by their correct name , as mentioned above, plus you were told this fact 2 months ago in the first reply you received

its not a "fine" , wont say that word on any of your paperwork , just like jobseekers allowance isnt "jobby" :)

I trust that you use the correct terminology in your coursework ;)

all forum members who reply actually want is for the person asking to deal with things when pointed in the right direction , not to make excuses about "not having the time" , if it wasnt for people like me "having the time" you would not get any replies at all

if you have not got the time , pay somebody else to do it for you , as its approximately 20 hours net minimum wage you are trying to save here , but I do not think you are taking this seriously , you just want it to "go away"

think of this as a reality check, put down the mobile phone and put away the xbox or ps4 and do some "real work" for a change

at the moment , you are in no different a position as this person was last summer https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5026084

Now now now josh - - stop that silliness and don't go away either:). We want you to kick this into touch.
Everyone you consider 'expert' is someone who began where you are now, knew the same outrage, often recently.

There is, however, merit in redx's general point re: lack of letter-writing skills. Various journo articles in broadsheets during last week made this point [also re:lack of telephone skills, face-to-face communication, voice and word usage]and it has long been obvious to me.

Today's students have lost out on grammar and spelling teaching. Lecturers are often shockingly inept in these fields themselves.
This Forum exists to HELP people debunk these unenforceable scam invoices.
You read the stickies, several times, so you learn how. You follow the tried and tested advice. You learn how to use search terms for pertinent cases.
    We proofread your drafts.

Wow Redx you seem pretty grumpy, cheer up. What are you going on about xbox and PS4? Pretty judgmental but ah well I'm not one to make sarky comments over the internet to strangers so let's just leave that there.

I'm more than capable of complaining and letter writing, I deal with this kind of thing for a living in fact. If you ever want to get your PPI or PBA back I'm your guy! The reason I asked if there was a template is because I don't want to put my foot in it and say something wrong that may hinder me, I'm more than happy to write my own. I was just looking for tips in what to say basically but I'll just say what I think is right.

Oh and by the way I left uni 3 years ago so not a student.

I just feel that we are on page 2 of your thread and you have done nothing and learned nothing to date (not even the correct terminology)

cant see you helping other people in other threads like the regulars on here already do , nor do I see you helping others on here with PPI or PBA either, so at the moment it just seems to be one way traffic , all chit chat and obfuscation , no action

when you have more thanks than you do posts under you name, I may take you a tad more seriously , although I wont be needing those services you mentioned and never have needed them

once you are more "expert" in this field I hope you give something back , which is the point of MSE

ps:- this isnt facebook, its a serious forum where proper advice is given, doesnt matter if the recipient likes it or not, plus I dont think I am the only one who is reading between the lines and getting a certain message about you

hopefully you will produce a good template letter for the BPA that you will post on here for us to refer to in future, plus a few about PPI and PBA too :)

Worrying, as is deaf finger>Thanks button.

'would of found it?' 'have only took' - not what I'd read seriously in a professional Letter of Pleading, merci millefois.

'I don't want to put my foot in it and say something wrong that may hinder me,' - that part you are making a good job of on your own.

Didn't go looking for these either, just remembered much jarring as I read initially.

Read the last line of my signature, josh, then turn your head around and get to work on this, due diligence et al.
