Q36.

Both were south african born, batting with an irish born player when they bought up their 100?0 -

Answer: Scored a century
After thinking about, isn't it a bit random to pick out these two players in these two years just because they scored a century at Lords. Surely there must be many other players that have scored a century at Lords in one year or another.
Note that this question is in the Quirky Goings-on section, what is "quirky" about this?
Perhaps the fact that they both both made their hundreds without losing their wicket? But even this isn't unique, after all Dravid made 103 not out in the same match that Prior made his 103 not out.
Can't help thinking there must be a bit more to this.
I'm no expert so don't shout me down please but were they both dropped at slip during their innings? If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -

Assume you mean Q26. What did Sven Koenig in 2004 and Matt Prior in 2011 both achieve at Lord's?
Not sure this is correct, can you give a source? Prior made 2 centuries at Lords that year and as far as I can tell, his partners when he reached 100 were Tremlett and Broad who are both English. In the second 100 when he made 103 not out, he did partner Eoin Morgan at the start but Morgan was out before Prior reached 100. Morgan was born in Ireland.
Is it really an "achievement" for two South African born players to make 100 at Lords without losing their wicket?0 -

All opinions welcomed. I don't think many of us are expert either.
However, I can't think being dropped makes scoring a 100 an "achievement", after all it's not uncommon to be dropped and go on to make a good score.0 -
just a gut feeling but rahul dravid and shane warne for the most runs in combination.0

I think that question 35 wants to know the highest score made by a designated batsman and a designated bowler batting in partnership and that the answer is Jonathan Trott & Chris Broad. They scored 332 for the 8th wicket in the 4th Test against Pakistan in 2010.
This now means that there are answers for all questions but questions 26, 29, 35 & 40 are a bit unsure.0 -
Just to pop in and say:
Q26 - Pretty sure it's smashed a window on their dismissal.
Prior is confirmed by David Hopps in The Guardian on 7th June 2011 whilst Koenig's transgression is noted on the Custombats notice board, and although anecdotal, two members have confirmed it happened.
It seems more unusual than anything like scoring a century and carrying your bat.
