They dont need a warrant if they believe a person or accomplice involved in a crime they are investigating is in the premises, pace section 17 .

Haha you people know everything one here!

So by this legislation she should of been arrested? at least for handing stolen goods, as there's no evedice she took at as the brother signed for it. (Officer said it was her first offence. She has a clean record)

As for what the mother said. A sarcastic 'thanks for getting her daughters place searched. It was there wasn't it.' I said yea as I closed the door. Didn't hear her call me a nob but my wife heard her say it at the end.

Glad you got your console back OP. I have awful neighbours and wouldn't trust them at all. I make sure when I'm ordering anything that I put in the delivery instruction box 'DO NOT LEAVE AT ###'. I also have one of the 'return undelivered parcels to sorting office' stickers from Royal Mail. This is the exact scenario I worry about.

I think I would be pushing the police to take it further, paticularly the person who signed for it!

Can't see why they wouldn't be pursuing it to be honest...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • I'm new to this forum but I've just been reading through this thread because this kind of thing is a personal pet hate of mine, and a really bitter one too (even though it's never happened to me).

I find it extremely unprofessional when a delivery company leaves a parcel with a neighbour. They are being paid to deliver it to XYZ, not to dump it on ABC instead just because XYZ happens to be out and they're too lazy to write out a 'Sorry we missed you' card.

I'm glad you got it sorted out though.
  • The problem with things like this is that in the end the parcel company are responsible and I can see the end result being that they don't ever leave parcels with neighbours. If they do this I'll be seriously p'd off as all our neighbours are great and we regularly take parcels for each other :(

It also keep end costs down. The cheapest delivery method is a single delivery. Item goes out and doesnt come back.
So delivery points(eg Amazon lockers),leave with neighbour etc.
If items are taken out and brought back. you have storage/collection/redelivery costs.
