The Signature VS Vdara. Has anyone got any recent experience (the last year or so) of both? We stayed at the Sig in 2010 and loved it, so have booked there again but now I'm wondering whether to switch the booking to try the Vdara instead.

I stayed at Vdara in 2012 and loved it so booked there again for this year

It specifically needs to be one of the non smoking hotels and we don't want the platinum mainly because we stayed there last time and want a change :-)

When are you going? I stayed Vdara last May, hotel great but pool area is small and they closed off 1 side for part of each day we were there due to sun death rays, the pool area is the only thing that would put me off booking Vdara again but I like some pool time every day (not that we had great weather last May either )

Stayed in both. Signature x3 times Vdara last trip. Got upgraded in Vdara for tv not working to corner suite. I'd probably marginally opt for the Vdara maybe because they waived the resort fees and gave upgrade last time

We stayed there in June 2012 when the crazy heatwave hit (43'!) yet they never closed off any of the pool area. Same as you though - I loved the hotel and location but the pool area was disappointing

  • Thinking of flying out of Vegas for a long weekend somewhere. Could someone please provide a bit of information on Southwest, JetBlue and Spirit - eg is 1 better than the other, or any to be avoided etc.

We have used Southwest and Virgin America. Would use both again.
  • Thanks for the replies. We have flown Southwest and found it fine. Currently looking at SF, so only a short flight. I will send tomorrow looking at prices and times.

I have always fancied SF, but I never get a 'feeling' for any ot the reasonable priced hotels. I nearly booked Denver, I know nothing about the place, but saw a great deal on a hotel.

I've not been to either but have heard good things about Portland and San Diego. Portland seems to be the latest upcoming city break location in the US with a good food scene.
  • We did a day trip to San Francisco from Vegas. It was ok, but not my favourite place. It was quite chilly even though it was early September. Couldn't believe the difference in temperature for such a short journey!

We are doing San Diego in May, have heard good things about it. We fly into San Diego and then drive to Vegas and fly home from there, so we're not flying. We have also done Los Angeles and enjoyed, although it's maybe not the easiest city to get around without a car (and quite a scary one to drive in at first with all those lanes!!).

Lots of people really like San Francisco so it's probably a good idea.
