Full English? Not quite, but here's a couple of highly acceptable alternatives IMHO:

we went to Denny's last time. I'm American, so I know Denny's quite well. I did not remember their coffee being quite so dire. The food was perfectly acceptable if unremarkable, and the service was excellent...but that coffee...borderline undrinkable.
We fly Wednesday. I am ridiculously excited. We have the Red Bull Air Race on the planner, but given how hot it is right now, we're not going to buy tickets in advance. If it was mid-30s on the day, I think that would be too hot to sit outside for a few hours, so we shall see.
Also going to the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve for the first time. My FIL is a bit of a birder. It is on the planner as 'thing (ferf) really thinks we should do' so it will be a bit of a surprise.
And making the trip to both Red Rock and Valley of Fire (in that order, different days) as we didn't do either with the in-laws last time (we did the GC and it seemed silly to follow that up with either)..my hubby and I have both been before but not for several years.
And I am finally going to see O from the 'middle-middle' seats I have always wanted...we have seen it from the balcony and right at the front.
And meeting up with the lovely pebbles and the dashing Tony for drinks.
And loads of other things...cannot wait!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
But I am pretty sure after 25 trips you could have done everything many times over, although if you are spending a lot of time gambling then that probably accounts for it.
I would disagree. Maybe you are approaching this from the perspective of someone who doesn't have a car? We always do, and that opens up the options quite dramatically. Some also get around quite well on the buses and that expands their options.
There are loads of 'things' we have not done yet...and some are things we would like to do...we just haven't fit them in before with everything else available.
We are still discovering things we didn't know existed, like the bird viewing preserve, no idea that was there until a friend mentioned it on Facebook.
I guess it all depends on what is classified as a 'thing to do'...it would be silly to suggest anyone has done everything there is to do, of course.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Edit: The other one (Tropicana) is the Clark County Wetlands Park.
Also thanks for the compliments, we are really looking forward to seeing you both again, and meeting the inlaws.

Thanks ferf and pebbles didn't know about either of those reserves. May be able to see a roadrunner.
Always finding something new to do in Vegas;)0 -
Last time we saw a roadrunner was at Hemenway Park near Boulder City. That place is definitely worth a look. Longhorn sheep (I think) congregate there regularly. The most we have seen at one time was 42!
There is an easy walk nearby, along the old train tracks for the Hoover Dam. You get some great views of the marina on Lake Mead during the walk. It think it's called five tunnels walk, but I can find out more if you need to know.0 -

ahh if only! I'm pretty sure I could holiday there every year for the rest of my life and always find something new to do or visit.
LV really is the gift that keeps on giving for me, there really is something for everyone.0 -

We've got trip number 5 booked for next year, it will be our third in four years. People often ask what we 'do' there to want to go back again. I saw someone on Trip Advisor the other day describing Vegas as their 'cabin by the lake', the place they return to where they feel completely happy and at ease - that describes it perfectly to me. I have friends who go to the same cottage in Cornwall/B&B in the lakes etc several times a year yet never hear anyone questioning why they keep going back.
As to what we 'do'...well, to us Vegas is a holiday and it's certainly not a once in a lifetime place. We don't feel the need to fill every second and spend a good deal of our time relaxing by the pool or lingering over a nice meal. When we went this year, we 'did' hardly anything, no shows, one short shopping trip (our only move away from the Strip in 11 nights!), no excursions and yet the time flew and we were never bored. Every time we say we'll go to the Grand Canyon 'next time' but when it comes to it we just can't tear ourselves away from Vegas!
Each to their own - it's definitely somewhere you need to experience for yourself to form an opinion. I was very underwhelmed by New York - it was nice to look at and all but I ended up bored there and I think the shopping is loads better in Vegas and even San Francisco! I appreciate this puts me firmly in the minority! Luckily Mr W-J and I have never seriously disagreed on a place - furthest apart we've been was with Barcelona, he hated it, I thought it was ok.
The world would be an incredibly boring place if we were all the same (and Vegas would be horrendously crowded!)"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"
