  • today was the day of the football tournament and the gymnastics show and we have had a 100% success rate with miniocc. a month ago I couldnt imagine this happening. Everything went well he was definitely not out of his depth playing with the kids a year older than him and enjoyed it. The Gymnastics show went on and on but he liked it but was extremely tired when I collected him. There were only a total of 5 boys in it and about a million screeching girls! well there seemed like there was a million.

have made some progress on my coursework today :)

Brought the last christmas presents £10 spent and everything has been wrapped although I need to check my cupboard one more time. miniocc has to finish his 3 presents and also I have to finish his christmas eve box. Just need to update my online shop for the last of the food that is being delivered on 23rd. Then christmas is all done.

Pleased to hear your son is making progress. As for the music, can't imagine someone really struggling with guitar is as bad as someone really struggling with violin. Well, that's my excuse. ;)

Sad to hear music is undersubscribed at your son's school, though. :(

We've got the last minute Christmas shopping pencilled in the diary for tomorrow.

Sorry to be a pedant but bought is the past participle of buy and brought the past participle of bring.
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

or a typo of someone who has worked a 60 hour week and has a 7 year old to look after!
  • Just finished a long day, work then got my online shopping ordered which is being delivered on Wednesday. £100 spent that includes weekly shop, Christmas stuff for us and stuff for the party. I think that's a bargain. Just a couple of things to get from M and S and I have a Tesco voucher to use too which will go on smoked salmon for the meaties.

In money news £200 transferred to the mortgage from paypal for the junk we have sold in the last week or so. That will help us to make the target I am sure. Might be able to add a little more to that before the end of the year.

miniocc is with grandparents away at a hotel for the night. He will love that:)
  • £100 for all that sounds great. :)

Have a nice night sans miniocc
  • Oh, OH, OOOOOH forgot to say, that £200 from eBay selling stuff took us past out £5000 a year OP target!!!

Considering we had the plumbing disaster and ended up have spending nearly £10k on renovations this year and savings between are down only about £2k at the end of it all that's a small miracle.

Now to see where we end up in the £126ks at in 9 days time :) the lower the better (although I expect it will be at the higher end)
  • £200 from eBay, superb! We've done very well out of eBay in the last month from selling kids clothes. Our pot is upto £110 which is a great start to DS1 birthday in January.
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
  • £110 is fantastic, your DS1 is a lucky boy :)

Today I have been doing some more spreadsheet fiddling! I have the mortgage and savings, actual and target figures on one easy to update sheet.

I have done a few sums and I overpaid by £10 less last month than I thought I did. Will update the sig when I have finished this post.

was a NSD for me. the first in ages! nothing much happening on the money front at all. mortgage payment comes out in 2 days on christmas eve :)
  • Almost ready for Christmas. Food shopping arrived from my Asda delivery and a few things were substituted but they were okay. Also popped into an m and s foodstore and had the most hideous person on the checkout who was so rude. I was so surprised with it being m and s. To be honest I had a horrible experience last time I was in m and s with an abusive customer who was in their 80's who manhandled and pushed me in the queue and when I asked her to take her hands off me she made out like I was some OAP bully! I must have looked terrible to other people. She had an eye patch too! I must try to avoid m and s at all costs in future.

Otherwise was at work today, had some lovely customers and managed to keep everyone happy :) will be leaving early tomorrow to prep for the christmas eve party and have about 20 odd people expected at 5pm for a few hours of playing, dancing, drinking! Am making mulled wine in the slow cooker, its my first attempt but have the ingredients ready and will cook on low for a few hours.

Tomorrow is also mortgage payment day and unless there are any more TCB or quidco payments that would be it for the year. I have quite a lot ready to pay so if I dont get it in this year it will be a good start to 2016 :)

Today is mortgage payment and OP day :)

    interest Dec 2015-£252.62
    Interest Dec 2014-£291.82

£39.20 less interest paid in 2015 thanks to the OPs

Total overpayment for December £617.79 (might make another little one but unlikely tbh)

    Total OP's for 2015 £5338.58

    Mortgage balance £126888.00

Edit : I would like to find another £113 to make a £12,000 reduction this year. 7 days to squirrel this together.

Target for month smashed already and yearly target already met :)

In other news out local pub has a groupon on which lasts 2 months so I brought 2!

For my random act of kindness I donated £10 to the refugee crisis.

Christmas Eve party was fantastic and a brilliant visit from Santa to make the kids night so special. Everyone had a great time, I made mulled wine :)
