250g butter, 250g light brown sugar, 5 tablespoons golden syrup, pinch nutmeg, pinch cinnamon

heat in a pan until bubbling turn off heat.

150g sultanas, 450g oats, 100g bar of dark chocolate (or milk if preferred) broken into smallish bits.

Mix the sultanas, oats and chocolate into the sugar/butter in the pan thoroughly. Line a tray with greeseproof paper (or use a silicon one) and spoon the mix in about 2cm ish thick.

Cook on 150 degrees for 45 minutes.

If the bottom is a little greasy (due to milk chocolate) rest each piece on a bit of kitchen roll for a few seconds to absorb.

    Yummy yummy.

Could easily use less sugar/ sugar/syrup for little ones (say 3/4 of the amount) , but as a real treat it's so good like this.

    :)

I bow down to all you hardy car booters. I must confess to having preference to the "only paying 50p-£1" side of the table!

  • You would have liked our stall then as it was all that much !

I hate car booting but try and do one per year when I absolutely need to!

Just spotted that phrase 'camper van fund' - me too!
  • Yes we have some newly started funds, just in piggy banks (that you can't open) for now until CC is paid off but they are already growing nicely. Currently we have camper van fund and extension fund.

I'm sure there are more funds to be started though!

We really want a larger size camper so expense is going to be high. As we're working on mortgage and doing up our house too it isn't high on the priority list but the piggy bank is a start. Actually we tend to prioritise this fund over the extension fund which obviously needs to come first but isn't half as much fun!!!

Mrs SJ keeps saying we should do a car boot. I say I'll load the car and even set the alarm for you...!

  • In fairness my BF volunteered me, I'll set the scene.

I was at work finished at 6 drove home parked up and walked to friends house, he was at a said friends house at a garden party on his second glass of wine when I walk in gate. 2 of the guests said that the BF had just volunteered me to go car booting with 2 others as I really really wanted to do one. Oh yes and would I drive and load it into the van. After a couple of beers and some food I was in total agreement!
