Booked 4 nights on edge of Peak District for a couple of weeks time. Paid for from holiday fund and spends are accounted for too.
Looking forward to it already :-)0 -
Today wasn't a NSD brought BF some art stuff and a couple of things for the present cupboard. Spends £9 but felt like I got a lot for that.
Is having a very negative day today, feel very down. Work is sometimes so depressing as customers can be mean. 99.9% of our customers are lovely then every so often you get one. I suppose I take it to heart too much when we do get a moan. Especially when it's something really small. Luckily we don't get it often.
My list
1. Watch out for the CC Balance transferring. Got a letter I've gotta sign from mortgage company do balance isn't going to transfer any time soonresigned myself to interest next month now
2. Keep check for BFs SIPP monthly payments to start. - won't start til August
3. Write a blog post or 2 this week - nearly finished 2 and having loads of inspiration at the moment for this which is one good thing.
4. Send Payment from my TT account and my Halifax reward on last day of month. Then make it up to £400.
5. Find some free things to do in the school holidays.no progress but actually the holidays are getting full so I'm not going to need a lot more to do in all honesty.
6. Transfers miniOCCs account to a better rate. - booked appointment.0 -
Today has been a bit better today, feeling a little better.
A NSD for me again today but have 2 days off work now so will be spending some cash then. I know a lot don't believe in NSDs but I find they help to stop the drip drip drip of money from my account. That was one of my major problems before. I leaked money!
Had a jar of jam from outside my house stolen again. Very depressing that people are so mean. I sell it very cheaply anyhow.
Things I need to do/remember
1, needs not to look at the S and S ISA every day as its gone down. It's a long term investment and it's how it is in 10 years that matters. Stop looking every day!
2, keep check for new CC, I sent the signed stuff back today. Very old fashioned!
3. Top OPs up to £400 and any extra to the CC. Do this on 31st July.
4. MiniOCC new 6% regular saver account will be set up on Friday as I have an appointment at bank.
5. Drip feed new blog posts as I have about 5 new ones drafted and seem to be able to write easily at the moment.
6. Start reading for my new counselling course. I have the books from the library I must now read them!
If anyone would like to write a guest blog just let me know. I'm getting lots of readers but would like to mix it up with some guest bloggers if you fancy writing one. Just PM me.
In other positive news are getting a £3 tesco finest cheese voucher soon :-) every little helps!0 -
Made another OP yesterday taking my total to £361.20 for the month so far. On last day of month I'm transferring over my tidy account and will make it up to £400.
Am going to update my target to £425 next month so that a bit closer to me target of £5000 for the year. I'm not that likely to make it but I want to be as close as possible.
I've cleared about £600 off the CC this month too so overall I'm really happy. Am going to match that next month too so I can clear it ASAP. Still waiting for the new 0% CC to come through so will have a bit of interest to pay but 18 months to clear it.
Must go....will finish update later :-)0 -
A quite spendy few days but all good fun.....
Brought season ticket for local attraction yesterday somehow they charged me wrong so £135 for 3 of us instead of £150. I can't work out why they charged us that much but I'm not complaining. Our holiday/fun fund is depleted to £65 after we have taken into account the spends from our planned 4 days away. The season ticket is going to get another use tomorrow we find spending on this saves us hundreds through the year and means we always have something to do.
£1.20 replenished to holiday fund from a jam sale.
Today we went to the cinema expecting to get one free ticket with the odeon loyalty scheme but we had 2 freebies so total spends £7.50. Snacks from £land so a reasonably cheap morning. Went to the coast for the afternoon to sunny Cromer (it's a fantastic little town now you should go there) had lunch out and ice creams (£25). Went to RNLI museum (free) and a lovely walk around (free!).
A lovely and very full day, film, lunch out, education and a bit of exercise for under £40 for 3 of us. I call that a good value day. We don't often all get the day off together so very pleased it was such a fantastic day.
Picked a couple of bits from Aldi so about a fiver from the groceries fund spent. It will be interesting to see if we stay within the £200 target by much.
In other news made a courgette loaf with my glut of courgettes which is very tasty. Yesterday it was courgette fritters, the day before courgette chilli!!! I have written a blog post of my 4 favourite courgette recipes today today so it's been a real courgette day! Any other courgette recipes would be appreciated as I have so many on my plants.
Tomorrow I'm at work whilst BF and miniOCC using season ticket, lunches all made and we are both trying for a NSD! Will empty my tidy account to mortgage, make up OPs to £400 smackeroos and report my monthly totals.
Edit. Will also be using spreadsheet kindly supplied by Shanghai Jimmy to devise my plan to be mortgage free. Put in my basic figures and standard payment with standard OP Already. Other OPs being added in every month and I will work out how much that needs to be to meet my target of less than 10 years to be MF!0 -
I'd be courgetted out by now i must confess!
Glad to hear you've started with the spreadsheet. Its great for forecasting and especially the "what if i round up" how much difference will that make to daily interest in 12 months. Or is that just me!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
I agree SJ I am courgetted out now but they keep on coming!
Monthly Update
1. I have updated my sig for the end of the month. I must have had a little miscalculation and had to transfer an extra few pounds but cut a long story short I got to £402.99 this month :j:j:j
2. Am going to aim for £425 from now on which I should achieve.
3. Opened miniOCC a regular saver of 6% today so will need to amend my standing order.
4. This months generation has been a bit poop but its been so miserable for the second half of the month so im hoping for a better August. Still its more than I expected so cant complain.
5. Savings I will update later tonight but I have spent some of the holiday/fun fund so it will be going down. Im going to remove this from the savings total from now on as its not really savings.
6. Long term investments, S&S isa, shares and FC all ticking along nicely need to work out their net worth at some point. Its not a lot but all part of the retirement plan so i should keep a track of it really.
7. CC reduced by about £600
Thats it, all in all not a bad month0 -
Today is going to be a very good and should be a very MSE day.
Firstly miniOCC's best friends parents are picking him up to take him to a local climbing wall where they are booked in for an hour (FREE)
Then we are collecting miniOCC and his friend and going to pizza express and I have exchanged nectar points for 4 free pizza so it will just be drinks and some dough balls to buy (max £20)
Going to see NCFC in pre season friendly with 4 ticket that were FREE from miniOCC's soccer school booking. It's miniOCC's friends first football match as they are a rugby family, hope he likes it and miniOCC says he is going to lend him his scarf. Arhhhhh.
Will be parking in our contract parking space (FREE)
Planned spends for the day £20-25 for 4 people for a day out. let's see how that goes!
I love a full, fun and bargainous day.0 -
