Not a great money saving day today but lots of fun. We have an annual pass for a local zoo but decided to take the little one elsewhere for a change. We haven't really spent a great deal during this school holidays and the last few months we have literally been spending no money and it's been hard for the whole family so decided to splash about a bit.
That gave me some inspiration, we always buy a season pass for an attraction and it really saves us money on days out during the year. We take it for granted we always have the option of a day out, skint or not. I put together a blog post on how we save for it, how we choose where to have it for and things to take into consideration. Take a peak and let me know what you think. http://stretchyourpennies.blogspot.co.uk. Please send the link to friend with kids or post on Facebook if you think it would be useful for anyone as it saves us tons of money.
I'm actually getting a lot of visitors which is fantastic, I've added some adverts and am researching lots of sites. I Want to start writing reviews too and should be writing one for my air fryer right now but. I've been distracted by MSE as usual!
In MSE terms today we
1. made a picnic to take out with us.
2. Did washing load on solar power
3. Cooked tea on solar power.
4. Cooked from freezer stuff.
5. Brought 4 potato bags and 1 lot of seed potatoes from £land. The bags will be good for a few reuses to my £5 investment should be very worthwhile.
6. Sorted issues with my iboost so will have free hot water tomorrow.
7. Funding circle small payment in (sig updated)
8. Ordered 2 Covent garden soup enhancer freebies one for me one for bf which was a brill freebie I got off MSE freebies forum. I can't wait to get them!
In other news we have started using scented candles again as we got one and it smells sooooo lovely. It's called butterfly and blossom or something and I can highly recommend it.0 -
Glad that you had a good day; it's a long haul so you can't deny yourself all the time. There has to be balance x0

That's what I think. You can't stop enjoying life as this all takes far too long. I'm not willing to give up life for 5 years to achieve my goals just take - bit longer and enjoy life.
I really must get up for work now though!0 -
Things done today
1. Funding circle sig updated. Still no defaults so far which I'm very happy with. Things are going well
2. New blog post written (link a couple of posts back). Opinions welcome as usual and please share with friends.
3. Sent faulty footie boots back to sports direct and post my ebay sale.
4. Recieved a Covent garden soup Enhancer already! It looks good.
5. Got confirmation of my first boots volunteers review. Body scrub. Can't wait!0 -
You sound like you have a good balance not wasting cash nor wasting life. When I was mfw wannabe a few years ago I took it to mega frugal extremes but it is hard to keep that up as its definitely a marathon not a sprintHOME
