  • http://bounts.it/ - it rewards you for doing fitness things. Think it can connect to a fitness device or various phone apps. You get points for hitting a certain number of steps each day, or for spending 30 minutes in a gym, etc.

I signed up a week ago and have 30 points from my Moves app (based on steps/day). Plus another 90 bonus points from Bounts itself, and 700 points via a MSE referral code. Think you can cash out starting at 769 points (a £10 am@zon gift card is 2,778 points, which isn't bad for walking around).

^^^ exactly right. Although I am way over 1000 now with my mystery pilates classes and my step count that would probably require I run a marathon daily! I am sure they will sort out the problem soon and I will be reduced to my correct points!

I think even if it takes a year to get a £5 voucher thats towards a chrismas present and £5 I dont have to spend!
  • Great day today. finally got ready and dressed after lunch and took the dogs for a walk this afternoon. miniocc decided it was the time for practicing his throwing so I got away without having to look after the dogs the whole walk!

When we got back I made some wedges to go with the chilli i'd made a huge pot of this morning for freezing into portions. I also noticed that we had 2 lots of broccoli in the cupboard so made up some creamy sauce to go on it so that's 2 large portions ready for the freezer when they cool down.

Over the last couple of days I have batch cooked
4 adult 2 child portions of lasagne
4 portions of chilli with rice for freezer, one for lunch tomorrow and 2 portions of chilli for tea tonight so all in all 7 portions.
2 large portions of broccoli in creamy sauce. Enough for 6 side portions.
8 tins sized portions of leek and potato soup.

I would say the whole lot cost less than £10

miniocc was very grumpy this evening and had a mini meltdown in his room. I managed to stay positive through all this and he worked through it himself. It worked a treat, was very happy with myself, I just supported him :)
  • Had lunch with a friend, I just had coffee and cake to save money and only spent £2.90.

Had my batch cooked chilli for lunch and leed and potato soup for tea. That was super yummy.

now heading out to to take miniocc to beavers, he is excited as he saw some of the kids there at the cluster poetry festival today. `Just a little guitar practice before we go.

Apart from the £2.90 nothing else spent today although I may buy some double cream tonight to use in a pasta sauce for tea tomorrow as I had to use the whole tub I had brought in the soup as I made loads!

Some money back from FC into my account and another loan processed so now back lending to 27 businesses. I am nearing £500 invested and would love to put more in as I am getting a good return but the risk level is high for me so just putting in bits and bobs
  • Ended up a funny day, funny day at work.

I know this is a MSE forum so you will all be looking for good value picture this an angry(ish) customer asking for a 3 free repairs after having the items several years and one of the items 6 yes 6 years. That item will have cost £20 max originally and the repair will cost about £5 (we were offering to do it half price but that wasnt good enough). Sometimes I despair how customers have absolutely no idea how difficult and costly it is to run a small business nowadays. Not one of the 3 was a manufacturing fault and it feels sometimes people hold you to ransom with the threat of losing their custom. The cost of the 3 items in total would have originally been about £70 and total wear added up has been 11 years. The repairs which would have cost us almost half of the £70 (one was totally snapped so would have been expensive to repair) and we have bad customer service for refusing to do it as a good will gesture. Honestly I really do want to give up some days.

Anyhow work rant over. I just needed a rant. I sometimes can't get over it, I really would prefer not to have a customer facing job at some points.

Well in real MSE news when I dropped miniocc off at beavers I went to budgens and they had loads of bread and rolls for 25p each. I got some cream too for the pasta sauce for tea later in the week. Total spends £2.75.

Had 5 items for review today which cost me a total of £2 and 2 new items on the way total cost of £0. Its defiantly slowing up as expected but still getting some nice bits and bobs.

    money shuffle starts tomorrow :)

OOC: One of the reasons I really want to completely stop running the furniture business is due to some of my customers. I used to dread things being returned for the strangest of reasons and then not being able to sell (bespoke items).

  • wierd day today. have been trying to get docs appointment as ive had rib pains for a while now finally got to speak to a doc on the phone today who called me straight to the surgery for an appointment. Anyhow need tests done as they have some ideas but aren't 100% sure might need a scan too.

miniocc had a bit of a temp before school but felt okay so went in, my parents picked him up but brought him straight home, his temperature was 40.9. Whilst it isnt unusual for his temp to go up to the region of 40 this worried me. Ive spent the last 3 hours getting it down to 39. Those who might say moan at the school, its not there fault mini's temp will go up to 38/39 all the time so they had no reason to be really worried.

All round a day of illness :(

Over £20 is finally being paid by Quidco for my hotel stay in the peak district last summer! That should be on its way and 21p landed in mortgage account today. Will wait for the quidco one to arrive before rounding.

Funding circle has a few returns, and although no new items received to review today I have requested and been accepted for another couple and have received an email asking me to review some other beauty products. Really handy and my oh my the moisturiser that I am currently trying out is fantastic. I am going to have no issues reviewing it as its fantastic.

Made some HM soup for miniocc but he didnt want it so that'll go in the freezer in the morning.

    That is all.....

Hope your and miniocc's health improves soon. :)

That's quite a wait for cashback - feel a bit better about waiting for things from September (of course they were meant to pay out in December and are delayed...)

  • thanks HS and Alex, I will be glad to know whats not quite right. miniocc has been feeling really not right all day although has really improved tonight. Temp was over 39 and really lethargic until early evening when he suddenly chirped right up and them temperature has gone right down over the last 3 hours to normal. I'm very revealed as I didn't get much sleep last night.

Last day of my course today, need to complete my self assessment and then think about what i want to do ongoing. We are lucky in my area where there are 4 centres for learning to choose from in my area. There are financial differences with each option, I am still thinking post grad at the local Uni but there is a specialist counselling centre too which is a really good option too. Such decisions, really tricky. Total costs will be £9000 min to £17000 maximum which is for a degree (but I already have a degree so might have problems with funding with that anyhow so would have to pay it all up front myself) I think I will have to go down the post grad route.

money wise not a great deal going on today, got 4 items for reviewing getting a lot of beauty products so will be testing them and retaining the best ones and giving the rest away to friends as Ive got a few of the same things. In fairness all of the products are really good quality so im sure my friends will appreciate them and will save them a few pounds. I have now started getting emailed directly by the companies which is fantastic, if things carry on the way they are I should never need to buy toiletries again!!!

Had to buy lunch today as I was up late and had to get mini to my parents before my course so had no time to make lunch.

    The End.
  • Today

Spent £0 on myself, £30 on Miniocc guitar lessons, took lunch to work. BF brought takeaway as a treat because he's back!

Mini is at friends for birthday party sleepover present and card from the secret cupboard so no spends. Have another party Sunday joint 2nd/50th (dad and son) which will be fun.

TSB have made a mistake on my regular saver so have rectified and given me £20 as a sorry :) will op that when it goes into my account :)

The FC loan in default have paid back a little bit, a really little bit but it's a start. I didn't expect to see any of that again. S&S isa, let's not mention that! Terrible, never mind I'm in for long haul ;)

    That is all for today
