  • I have 2 TSB accounts that I use as savings, but really need to use the contactless cash back. If you use the full £100how much does it generate?

The £100 generates the £5. I use at shopping every week I go, that does it. I just get them to stop at £30 and put through in 2 transactions. My local Aldi know me now for this so you make friends too :)
  • Good thinking. My dilemma is between this or using tesco CC card for the points.... Too many choices!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
  • Wow all the choices is exactly what confuses me and then I end up doing nothing because I'm not sure which way to do it.. mad I know!
I love that you do 2 separate transaction OCC, is that so you can use 2 different contactless cards? you are a genius :j
    1.7.15: £157,469.64, 10.02.16: £93,434.74
    FIT-4 #34, MFW 2016 #89 (£7350/24000)
    Target MFW Dec 2018

Tesco points are 1% (1 point per £1 spent), then if you use them as 4x boost they're 4%. Plus the CC gives 1 point per £4 spent, so without boost that's 1.25% back, with boost 5%. (This is all assuming spending in Tesco.)

So if you boost your clubcard it's the same as the TSB cashback (but not direct cash so less flexible).
  • Thanks hidden, think I'll stick with tesco cc. One less card in my wallet is the deciding factor!

    Hello OCC

Sorry to hear that you and mini occ have been having some health issues, hope you are both doing better now.

Really impressive all of the batch cooking that you have been doing.

The football match sounds dreadful, I haven't been to one for ages and don't think I'll be rushing to go again having read your post. We used to travel to Liverpool, the language was shocking but the fans were usually quite friendly as we had a child with us, the only violence we encountered was when we traveled to France to watch England play. Glad that you and your family weren't hurt.

I won't be put off going to matches, can't let the bullies win, Miniocc has been going since he was about 2 and that was the first bad experience. He did even notice :rotfl:

Batch booking is great, going to try and do a couple of meals every week so as to save time in the week and keep away from the takeaways.

Miniocc is much better now, I had a blood test today so hopefully should have an idea by end of the week. I am hoping for the best :)

Tesco will be my next CC so that I can get the points. Will leave it a few months as I need to open another bank account next month to take the maturaing regular saver money. Nationwide I think still :) Some of this money is to pay off my CC (I was paying it off but then changed my mind to pay off minimum and do a tiny stooze) and some savings 50/50.

I am going to transfer PO CC at end of interest free period to my existing card I use on a day to day basis as they keep offering me balance transfers then open a tesco CC for daily use and close PO CC. Might change my mind depending upon whats available at the time. Need to ensure that I keep an eye on when PO CC 0% comes to an end as I dont want to be paying interest or anything!

Today okay money wise, paid for parking but that was all. tomorrow just £3 for football training. miniocc liked his dance class and will want to go again in another holiday. He used the money I had put in his bag to get any extra food to buy a can of tango! got a bigger kid to help him! I said it is okay to have treats occasionally but not all the time as if you do they are not then treats. He got it. I was quite suprised/impressed by his resourcefulness!

Hi occ, glad mini occ feeling better. Hope your blood tests come back OK. I have had a similar pain and gp has ordered thorough blood tests.

    Excellent financial savviness!

I've heard nothing yet so hopefully that's good news. It's such an annoying pain, I hope they can do something to help. I am a bit worried I must admit.

Today spent about £6 which isn't bad for a holidays day :) mini went to fa football training in the morning then to my parents in the PM. I batched cooked 10 lasagne portions 8 of which are going in the freezer :) made as low fat as possible and gf and used soya sand quorn mixed as filling which worked well.

Another £20 came payable from TCB, this is the last of the cashback due except about £1. Really helped out this month with my OP target this month which has been another hard one money wise so far as I've saved quite a lot :)
