Personal spends payday at last!!! I managed to save the full £250 last month
Straight away put £30 to the credit card although I need to sort out cc as I think most was business expenses from last month so I need to put it into a spreadsheet, work out exact amount and transfer it to my personal account. Anyhow will get that sorted when work is quieter next week.
I think £30 should pay for any personal spending but it might actually have been none personally. If so will pop that into PO CC just to bring it down a little bit.
Going to try and save the full £250 again this month from personal spends which is very tight but I did it this month so I'll have a go.
Finally the just over £80 landed in mortgage account do rounded up to £85. OP's so far this month £175 now which is just simply cashback rounded upwards to nearest £5! Should get to £200 this month via cashback but that's it on the cashback now
Have got loads of things to review at the moment and gave a skin toner and a serum to a colleague who was extremely happy to receive them
Anyhow off out today will try and spend as little as possible from my personal spends now I've got some again!0 -
Well done on saving the personal spends!0

Lunch out today and dads army at the cinema this afternoon. Was very funny, not like the original but it none the less fun.
Went to the Nike outlet on the way home got Miniocc some legging things for football £30 down to £10. Bargain.
The BF made a £100 op of the mortgage! Woohoo. Will therefore try to get to £600 op this month to account for this unexpected extra
Have loads of reviews to write, will try and get a few done tonight. I like to give them a really good test so I'm backed up a bit!!!0 -
Just got my £5 cashback from TSB today, straight away sent as an op! Woohoo that's £280 now0

The last of my cashback of just over £20 arrived today, rounded to £30. That's over £200 in cb this month!!! Nothing else due though but it was good whilst it lasted!
Need to sort out a nationwide account soon as m and s regular saver ends in about 10 days0 -
Okay how does this sound? I need to switch to nationwide but done have a doner account to switch so I do this...
Set up a new regular saver with HSBC at 6% thus no requirement for m and s - DONE TOOK 2 MINS
Set up additional tesco savings account (i have 1 already) - DONE IN 5 MINS
Set up a dd from each tesco account to m and s account - DONE IN 1 MIN
In couple of weeks when reg saver matures use nationwide switching service to switch using TCB and refer a friend to bag an additional £130 and £100 for friend.
Money can stay in nationwide earning interest as its about £2000 so under the max.
Add nationwide into money shuffle
Can do the transfer after the first DD comes out on 3rd March. That should tie in with when the reg saver matures at end of month and then they take about a week to shuffle the money about. I'm thinking if I apply for nationwide on about 5th March that should be perfect.
Checked out reg saver amount and it's just under £2k so should be just over with interest. Not bad as we had zero savings this time last year due to the solar panels and the heating being done. I also gave about another £1k in savings accumulated too earmarked for different things. Well chuffed with that progress to be honest.
In other news I think tomorrow is FIT day, luckily the Suns been our a bit this week or we might have been getting a tenner!0 -
Organisation is key to free money. This is definitely an area I need to address!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Today was very simple, spent the usual £8 on mini's weekly subs for footie/dancing which will increase to £10 if the game goes ahead tomorrow. It will be minis first proper outdoor match and its already a bit of a disaster as the best defender has flu.
Have set up the tesco accounts x 2 as donor accounts for direct debits. I usually put £25 in the original account for household maintenance so I have changed it to be a load of £5 direct debits (6 so far, this account could really do with £50 per month to cover what it needs to) This way when I get another chance I can move some of the direct debits about and can get the nat west cashback account too. Will pencil in doing that in the next school holidays as by then this new nationwide account would be in the money shuffle.
I am also hoping for a referral from the referrals forum to snaffle another up to £70 for the nationwide refer a friend.
The BF went food shopping spent £55 although we didn't need that much. Don't quite know how it got to £55 but it is a 4 week month so should be okay as the budget is for £50 per week.
Made a load of jars of jam today, will sell outside house and should net me about £25 in total. I have sold a few jars of chutney just lately so thought I would stock up on the jam. Plums out of the freezer (free) and 2 kg of sugar (£1) I really love making the jam, its my favourite.
Updated the spreadsheet, all is going well towards a good month so far. Only 8 days left so what can go wrong?!?!?!?0 -
I'm looking at reducing the amount of current accounts this year, or not increasing at least. A quick count up and we have 1 x FD, 3 x Halifax, 2 x TSB, 2 x tesco, 1 x coop, 1 x NW. I have the coop account primed for a nice switch bonus however and just need to wait/pick a 'victim'! Tesco savings are brilliant for the direct debits!
Chutney sounds lovely, but not sure on plum jam!! I'm a bit of a stickler for strawberry jam I'm afraid!
Ooooh, quick check and Yorkshire bank offering £150...!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -

Co op now have rewards, did you know? You need 4 DDs tho. I have just set up 2 for the two tesco accounts so only need 2 extras.
You do have a lot of accounts, a lot more than me!
Plum jam is my fave, I put a bit of cinnamon in it too and port if I have it!
I am already thinking what to do after nationwide lol!0
