True, but common sense is to assume there is none. ;)

The problem is that this place and others like it tends to get a little repetitive, and a vast majority of the population are completely unaware of what the PPC industry (thats the one that operates on the business model of collecting trumped up charges ) is up to, hence people will post on here in a semi panic stating they have been fined.
if a new poster can be helped and assisted through what seems like a minefield ( and they are receptive to the help ) then not only will they not pay a PPC, they will know how to deal with any future issues and hopefully help others and spread the word.

Getting your head round the parking tickets issue can take some time, and I'm sure that most on here have been stung at one time in the past - Ive fallen for their trap before ( paying an early bird discount - guess the PPC? ) and then actually researching it after a second ticket different ppc, differnt car park, different end of the country

That is why when PPC probles surface in the local paper you get comments such as "if you don't park illegally you wont get fined"

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find someone operating a small scale private clamping scheme at a pub, small college/school or elsewhere.

    Back to the OP..
continue to wait for the letter the whole discount period with PPCs is a sham, its an attempt to get you to pay up, as said before the total amount owing is and will be Zero.
If you havent already read the parking prankster post linked to previously.

As far as an in-store/Mc Doanlds complaint goes you have said that...
I spoke in macdonald staff but they r useless
that is to be expected, as far as the staff are concerned - they dont care, to go down this route you must be ready and up to speed on things...

    >Hello , can I speak to the manager?
    Mc D's> sorry not available
    >Can i speak to your supervisor?
    McDs> er...ok
    supervisor> hello
You> I recieved this parking charge thing whilst visiting your restaurant on susch and such a date
Mcds> Sorry nothing to do with us, our car parks managed by Met parking you will have to get in touch with them
You> Excuse me, But its your car park, you have hired, or allow Met parking to operate in your car park as your agents, and as such you are legally responsible and liable for their actions.
In my case your agents have issued me with what amounts to an unlawful penalty, for which neither you nor your agents have any lawful claim to do.
    McDs> er..
You> Further more I was in your restaurant at the time, and I also have evidence that your agents have tried similar tactics at other establishments ( show Print out of PP blog post )
As far as im concerned this could be interpreted as a a breach of Section 2 of the Fraud act amongst other things and as Met are your agents you could also be liable
    Mcds> er
You> Im going to give you the opportunity to cancel this charge now

    and if they dont
tell them that you may claim your costs from them should this go as far as POPLA

    Dear
You are very helpful Thx very much.
Just update that I received parking charge notice in post yesterday so I believe I just need to simply appeal online to met parking services or just give some one else other driver name?
Some people may comment that I should read thread but reason to ask because on some sites written law change.
  • :doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

I can only endorse the post by TD.

The OP may want to do some reading before sending appeal and post on here before sending.

Respect to the seasoned posters, how do you keep your cool!!

  • Does it actually say "penalty" ?
  • Does it actually say "penalty" ?

No penalty word just parking charge notice because driver was not on the premises at the time of survey
  • So they are not saying you left site.
They say you were not on site.
    How did they establish this?
To know you are not on site They either saw you leave site or went into McDonald's with a loud hailer to establish all car ownerships... good luck with that one in a court room MET.

MET are famous for doing this - it's a scam. See pranksters blog.
