Been reading this Forum with avid interest. Though perhaps a tad late.
I was sent a letter by Met Parking service Ltd about an overstay in a MacDonald's car park way back in April time - the parking overstay having happened in March.
Having taken (the wrong advice from people with good intentions but not up to date knowledge) I binned the letter and the subsequent ones.
I have now received one from Gladstones Solicitors - with warnings of being taken to court, etc. You no doubt no it's content - threats of high costs and loss of Credit Rating.
I have seen the spreadsheet describing a course of action but I am not sure what I should do as I have no copies of the letters - I just binned them and ignored them
What should now be my best course of action?
(I just wish I had seen this Forum beforehand) I am so impressed with the time people put in here to help others.
If any can offer any guidance this pauper would be grateful.

I suspect that Ronald must be sick and tired of this company who must be losing him customers hand over fist.
The first thing you must do is complain to the manager. If he is unsympathetic take it higher. Be assertive, make a fuss in front of paying customers if need be. Met have taken, if you can believe them, to going into restaurants and calling out car registration numbers, If no-one puts their hand up they issue a ticket.
Others will tell you of dodges to beat the company, but my advice would be to ignore them, I can see a major bust up between Ronald and Met in the near future. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Yep complain to the Manager at the McD's but don't bother with a Head office complaint to Jill McDonald (yep that's her name) who doesn't give a toss.
And as for the Gladstones letter, treat it as a 'letter before claim' and do a formal response as shown here:
