  • I know exactly what you mean about getting your photos taken in good time before thinking about listing. I always do that now as I find it the most problematic part of the whole listing process. I seem to be faffing around forever with some of them:eek: so I steel myself to having a few hours when I do nothing else but get all the photos finished of everything I might try to sell in the foreseeable future.

Sadly, I've never received the invite for the 100 free listings yet:( (not sure why, I have 100% positive feedback in over 750 sales) so just rely on the free 20 per month. Nowhere near as active on eBay as I used to be so must make a bit more effort.

I never sell anything fragile on there though as I worry too much about problems in transit.

Problem is I don't really have any other way of selling them, I have (literally) hundreds to rehome (I used to collect a range plus 'off-shoots' for myself, and another half dozen between my 3 kids who also want rid of theirs and have offered me a percentage for selling them), and they're the only thing I have which might fetch a reasonable amount of money - something I desperately need just to pay my monthly bills :( Getting shot of them would also reduce the amount of contents insurance I need, which could save me money year-in-year-out ;)

My bids are over £30 now so I am going to hit £500 this weekend. Good psychological boost to get half way there.

  • Wow, that's an impressive amount of money. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to it:T:T:T

I updated my signature at the weekend but never got round to posting how I made the latest amounts:o.

Did a tabletop sale on Saturday morning and made £39 and an outdoor car boot sale on Sunday morning and made £165. So that's a total of £204 which I've already added to my total. Really pleased as it was just clutter really, nothing valuable, and all things I'm pleased to see the back of:j. It never ceases to amaze me what people will buy:)

Probably won't be able to take advantage of the Bank Holiday weekend to do a car boot sale as we've got relatives over from Canada (not staying with us) and have plans to see them a few times and take them to places. Not sure if car boot sales would appeal to them:rotfl:

Have sold a few books on Amazon but am letting the money mount up and will count it when I receive it later this month.

    Happy selling everyone:beer:

    Another £2 for me!

Told dd about amazn trade-in and offered her the money for any books of hers that I could sell there. She's happy with the offer, but not exactly scouring her shelves for cast-offs! Ah well...

Three items just ended and I am £44 better off so I have passed the half way mark. Really feeling pleased about it, not just the money but getting rid of the clutter. Got DH more onside now and two bags to the charity shop and three bags to the tip so along with the stuff I have sold it has made a real difference. Alot more to go but it is a good start.

Well, it's looking like I did the right thing only listing very low value items until I got my seller ratings :T

When I had to do my mad-dash listings last Sunday, I included 31 items that have already been listed and relisted over the last three months. Amongst those are 2 self-help 'book and CD' sets that were up for the 2 weeks immediately prior to this, and which I reduced the price on by almost 50% when they automatically relisted. I put them back up at the lower price, and as of last night both had more than 1 bidder, with one set being almost 50% above the price I'd originally listed it at :o I was asked (as I was doing the listings) if I planned to relist the other, but so far there's no sign of a bid from that person - so either they were hoping to get it for starting bid or they'll be in right towards the end (fingers crossed the latter ;))

There are a few other items that already have bids (again some more than 1), and quite a number with more than 1 watcher (the one new item I expected to attract interest has ELEVEN watchers). One new item I didn't expect to pull any interest at all (but worth trying on a free listing before I throw out) already has 2 people bidding on it, and two related items I also expected to be left stuck with have multiple watchers!

So far, of the 60 listings 6 have bids and a further 16 have at least one watcher.

Hoping for a reasonable sum to add to my total after these close on Sunday night. Bids currently total just over £21. If I could add £40 to my total after deducting fees I'd be happy enough. Anything extra will be a real bonus :)

Best make sure I locate DD's closest PO, as I'm off to her place on Saturday for a week of decorating while she and my GDs are away - which means I have to take all the listed items and packaging with me :o I wasn't planning to list until the 31st because of my week away, but it would have been rude to turn down the offer of extra free insertions and a 50% discount on final fees ;)
