  • £57 so far with February's eBay listings. I'd love to try Facebook selling but I had a look and it actually seems to range from either passive aggressive to full scale arguments on there. You are all spoiling me for online manners!

I know what you mean about FB. Some people seem to have a lot of success with it, and I do look on my local one, but find gumt better. Possibly because it's more anonymous.

I had another sale but I just cancelled the transaction in anger. I sent the buyer a nice apology message saying I was very sorry but I hadn't got round to posting it because my grandmother has taken ill so it's all been a bit chaotic. But I'd get it posted by the end of the week.

    the reply

I bought it a week ago terrible service.

So I informed them that ebay sales are mostly just other normal people, not businesses, and that I'm very sorry my grandmother being on deaths door is an inconvenience to them, (shes not shes actually getting a bit better but they don't know that!), and that I am cancelling the transaction because I don't want to take money from such an appalling human being.

    URGH! PEOPLE!

Facebook selling I find the problem is everyone wants it for free, but if you agree a price with someone, suddenly everyone will pay you double.... I sold a sofa bed free delivery, someone was getting rid and asked us to take it to a dog sitting place we know, but it was too nice for dogs, so I offered it for petrol money £15, as soon as a price agreed someone said keep it to Monday I'll give you £50, other people get the ££ ££ eyes and say yes to the £50 which causes all the anger on those pages I think...
The other thing I've found about them is that unless you let them collect people get so wishy washy about delivery. I had a few agreed sales for board games before Christmas which didn't go through (and they were getting insane bargains I'd have got more on ebay!)

The money from MusicM@gpie for a load of old CDs is finally in my bank account as of this morning. The timeframe on their website suggests 27 days as a maximum, and it's taken 31

Just glad that I don't have any more to get rid of, as I certainly wouldn't want to be hanging around with no goods and no money for this long on even a semi-regular basis !!

So that's £17.29 in for February, taking my annual total to £47.84

Need to pull my finger out and get my February free listings up on eB@y. Went to make a start on it last night, only to discover a box of 'stuff' I was sure was in the bottom of the spare room wardrobe isn't there any more.... could take a while to hunt it down, so I'm going to have to try and find something else for now I think.

  • I'm very lucky in that my FB group has rules to prevent all the aggro (basically, you have to say a price up front, people comment in order and can't 'bid up' or auction; and everyone tries to be nice too). They do vary a lot.

Anyway. An ink cartridge for my old printer on eBay, and a DVD on FB, another £10
